Does anyone know who Shidosha is? He needs to get at me soon, I'm not gonna be able to play this thing at 10,11pm. Dunno if he thinks he's gonna stall and try and DQ or what, but it hasn't been an issue so far. Seems like all the best players have won out in the end anyway.

so wait, what's his GT then? Shidosha? I am Shidosha? IamShidosha with no spaces? Someone has the GT Shidosha, but hell that could be any fucking anime character for all I know, I don't even know if it's him.

Just played mine. Went up against Hyunster (VF5Hster). Extremely laggy for me and apparently we were doing a best out of 5 system rather then the pre-games then discuss the final fight. But apparently my lag and the lack of discussion didn't matter, he decided his system was best and failed to respond to my concern. Oh well, I suppose I can just ignore it and hopefully have a better meet up with my next opponent /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Good luck to all that make it to next round!

I can vouche since I sleep on Auvii's couch (yeh I can also rap). The other guy didnt respond, he did however send Auvii a message when he won 3 out of 5. I think he assumed that Auvii was psychic, and that he knew what was going on.

I never heard of "pre-games" with the tourney opponent you are sitting down to play and that idea, if widely accepted, is certainly new to me. If it is other people correct me. I did not think it was "my system." I mean, it would be one thing if you told me that before we started.

It's true that the game was very laggy. I haven't had that problem with most other people so I had to assume it was on your end and therefore it's not like it's something I could fix on my end. Given that I felt I had no choice but to continue to play since there was no guarrantee that postponing the match would fix it.

In any case, it's not like it's very likely either of us would make to the top in this qualifier.

Any third party would like to intervene?

To re-clarify my position, I would have to be the one considered a psychic if I was expected to know we were playing "pre-matches." If such is an accepted norm, (which I believe isn't) it would have to open a horde of problems. Again, if I was told that before the match it's one thing, to be told after 5 matches is another.

The game was very laggy and it affected both of us. I might be more inclined for rematch if I had a guarrantee that lag would go away, but frankly it was not a very enjoyable experience. It maybe possible to argue lag favors one over another, but I don't see how. Maybe you can argue my character (Lau) benefits more from lag, but I think that would be debatable at best.

    No need for a rematch.

Just for the record there is no such thing as "pre-games" with an opponent right before the tourney especially if its online. In offline tournaments players usually have casuals before the actual tournament to warm up. Online however, its assumed that you can warm up at any time right before the deadline. Basically both players would have to agree if warm-up matches should even take place and if you cant contact the other player then its assumed theirs no warm up matches

I would consider "casuals" and pre-games the same thing. Especially if its before 8pm which is when the tournament starts. If its after the scheduled start time, and there is no discussion, agreed, no pre-game or casual, or whatever you want to call it. Most importantly the best of 5 is something that these forums set as a standard, the rules are explicit and there is no best of 5 matches. Regardless who won my particular match, every match needs to be discussed before hand given the two separate interpretations on the rule set. Its also unrealistic to not talk to anyone before a match. I have never been to a fighting game tournament but I have been to many other types and never once do I just end up against someone without ever speaking a word.

I am very sorry to say that most things you said here is wrong and I am sure Denkai and others who have been to many different tournaments would agree with me.

Something else is going on though. Unless I have an implanted memory I have not played FightClubHubbs yet but I am marked as the loser. It may as well turn out that way but it bothers me that I have the bracket decided for me without even playing a match. What's going on?

You can open a ticket to dispute this and also PM your opponent. I think he has and account here.

No such things as pre-games online in tournaments far as I know. If such a thing is desired you definatly have to be clear that's what's going on because there is way too much leway for "oh dude I thought we were just warming up I wasn't playing for real." Like c'mon that's Middle school shit we're all grown ups here.

The rules also explicitly state it's best out of 5 matches NOT rounds, the rounds are regular default best out of 5 rounds.

These rules are nothing new and I don't know why so many people are having trouble with this. If individuals agree to different rules then that's different ofcourse.
