Dallas regional? Does it require having prior entry to WCG or can I just show up? When and where is it?

Jerky - Only online qualifiers can attend. I'll post other links soon.

Really don't think I'm gona go. I was gung ho about it, but having to make both trips for what little reward is given, just isn't proper to me. Especially flying to play a max of three other people.

If the event was longer, or tickets were a lot cheaper, I'd be much more apt to consider. Still wish they'd just allow all qualifiers to meet up in LA in October and square it all then.

That's fine. I'd still like to know where it's being held so that I can meet people and play offline VF casually.

I want to go because if I can make it to nationals, it will be a cool experience.

On the other had flying to LA to play three other people is pretty absurd.

I think regionals should happen like a day before nationals at the same place. That way if you lost regionals you could still at least hangout with other VFers and watch the main event. But thats not going to happen so its not really worth mentioning.

I was confirmed to go for today for the Atlantic, but due to heavy thunderstorms earlier I didn't leave. Sorry to those that were expecting me, but this shit is kind of unorganized, I didn't even get a email response back, so taking the chance to get down there out in a heavy storm just is not a smart thing to do for a gaming tournament.

I guess I shouldve just left the night before.

This is the same reason I decided not to go. To travel that far for 3 people I don't even really know it just isn't worth it. You guys can expect me at NYG though /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Oh shit - Breaking News at the Atlantic Regionals!

Konjou making sure that the "no mapping" rule is being enforced to fuck up Black Bauer's (Denkai) chances! Hahah - Denkai being forced to use stick now! Can Denkai overcome this hurdle and still place in the top 2? Only time will tell.

    Updates to follow!

The contestants for the WCG Atlantic Regional were Flash, Konjou, Denkai and myself.

WCG contacted me earlier this week that they would be short a person and offered me the spot.

Denkai qualified for North but was going to plead with WCG to let him play at the Atlantic regional instead. Luckily for Denkai, Slide didn't show and so he was offered to play in Slide's place.

As mentioned earlier, as the ruled were read over to us Konjou mentioned the no button mapping rule. WCG official said it was in effect. Denkai normally uses a pad with one mapped button for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. For the tournament, Denkai borrowed either mine or Flash's stick for his matches.

We did three round robins. Winner of the match was first to 3 wins. Score was:

    Konjou Akira (AK): 9-0
    Denkai (JA, SH): 5-4
    Flash (WO): 3-6
    Shag (GO): 1-8

Denkai used Shun once in first round robin match against Konjou and lost.

Once round robin matches were over Denkai and Konjou play one match for chance to win gift card to Circuit City. Denkai picks Shun and wins the match.

All matches were taped on my camcorder, I plan to put them up very soon! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Trust me he DOES NOT use just 1 button for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. That is just Denkai blowing smoke of everyones ass to make his button mapping don't seem like it's a big threat. If he is setting just one button for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif then why does he map other buttons for things such as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif?

Any way I only enforced the rules because Denkai is and was being sneaky for this event. So to increase my chances which I am glad I did... fuck that! NO MAPPING BITCH!

Tournament was a lot of fun! I think all matches were recorded with bad commentating by me! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

All bullshit aside, Denkai is my boy and he played well despite the fact he had to use a stick. I am not surprised because I knew he could use a stick because we played most of VF4:EVO and all of VF4:FT on an arcade cabinet. So he has been using a stick for quite some time. Although we trash talking like a mother fucker to each other, we both agreed that our Jacky vs. Akira matches were some awesome matches so I am sure you guys will enjoy them. But then the fag had to go switchnation on me and use Shun in the last match and I didn't even know it was the last match. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif oh well 2nd is good enough for me as I still make it to the nationals!

I definitely want to say thanks to Craig and Paul of WCG for making things fun and providing us with a lot of info about what's to come and what maybe. Thank you guys for giving VF a chance! Hopefully you will let us come back next year for another round.

Well I wasn't sure about /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, but I knew you mapped the others. Yeah I know the deal and I really am not bothered by it. Mission was to qualify and qualify I did so I am happy. I'm just mad because I was just fucking clueless it was the last set. Heck I wanted my chance to go switchnation too. It probably wouldn't have made a difference, but at least I would have gotten the chance none the less. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Well time to conserve my trash talking until October.

yesterday was definitely konjou akira day, as he mauled all of us single handedly during the round robbin. i am happy of his performance and hope to see more of the same type of rawness during NYG.

as for me, i need to unlearn what i have learned, begin to implement new tactics, and continue my rigorous training for NYG.

    see everyone soon! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
