The tournament was done in two parts. The first part was 3 round robins. For every match each player played one another in five games . The player with the most wins in a match was awarded a point.

    5 players

    1. adamYUKI 11-1
    2. CIDKID 9-3
    3. Konjou_Akira 6-6
    4. Shag 2-10
    5. Subbers 2-10

The second part took the two top players from the RR in a best of five match.

    CIDKID defeats adamYUKI 3-0.

CIDKID is awarded $700. adamYUKI wins $300. Both players will also get top seeds at WCG VF5 National tournament to be played in Los Angeles in October.

Will post more personal details in a later time.

Sweet guys, sounds like it was fun. Definite a solid crew of 5. You're all top in me book /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    My thoughts on the event:

Overall I had a really good time and would definitely attend another one. I headed down to the event a day early and had the pleasure of talking to a few of the admins. The admin for VF was this guy named Craig Levine who was really nice and provided me with answers to lot of question I had in terms of the rules and such. He was nice enough to go as far and offer some of his contact info which I will post at the end and suggest that if anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact him. He also mentioned that people can find lots of answers on the WCG site under Qualification Process.

The admins all seemed very supportive of our community and stressed that they would like to continue to give us more support. Craig even mentioned that they are trying to contact Sega to come on board and possibly create an event for the game. Only time will tell if our community will continue to get support. Although these guys seemed sincere and probably do want to help us, it is really up to us in end. I definitely recommend that people show up for there online matches and go to as many offline events as they can whether you are a player or spectator. We always complain that VF never gets it chance to shine, well hello folks we are shining and everyone knows in order to keep things shining you need to constantly polish it. Support the regional events when the dates get posted. Take the day off if it's in your city and go show VF some love.

I was going to post his phone number, but I don't think that would be best. I am sure he doesn't need Jonny calling him to bitch that someone posted the wrong results for the online qualifiers. If someone has a real issue and would like the number, please PM me. Also to all the VFDC Admins he did ask me to provide you guys with the number in case you had questions or concerns. So who the hell are all the VFDC admins? I know of Plague and KOD, but I don't know if there is anyone else. Myke doesn't count! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Yes - they give you a travel stipend, which covers airfare, hotel, and transportation to and from the airport. Nice!

Just wanted to congratulate Akmaal (ExtremistCidKid) on the win. He played well throughout the day, and was on fire in the finals. My toughest opponent at the moment; your offense and your ability to stay cool under pressure is incredible. You made it look easy. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

And i was almost the opposite: i was on fire during the 3 round robins, but played like utter shit in the finals! I really don't know what hit me, but upon further introspection, it was many things combined (mainly situational factors, and of course, Akmaals tough offense) that ultimately did me in. I just couldn't recover from the tailspin. Wow.

I posted the vid of the finals here: ADAM RAPE. For me, it is a case study on what can happen to people mentally under pressure, despite how prepared they think they are going in, and of course, what not to play like. I posted it as a reminder to myself, so i can never succumb again. Enjoy!

The event overall was incredible. Our VF section was sweet, as we played on these nice 46" Samsung LCDs, and the admin (the guy tallying the scores) was very cool and understanding. Actually, as Konjou mentioned, the whole staff was incredibly gracious! I would like to thank Craig and Paul for giving VF a shot, and of course, my boys Shag, Subbers, Rodney, and Akmaal for coming and representing. I can only imagine how FUCKING AMAZING the Nationals & the Finals in Germany will be!

God Damn - i love this fucking game. (And i now love WCG for giving our relatively tiny community some much needed exposure!)

Generally its not a good idea to post an email address on open forums like above, it will be found by bots and distributed around for trashmail senders. Better to alter it slightly like I did.

The event sounded great and maybe VF would finally start getting prestige and understanding organisers and whatnot in the form of WCG and others! I like this.

Thanks for editing my post guys. I wasn't aware that bots can grab your email address from something so simple as a post.

66p, 66p is the most elite wall combo ever.

Just saw the interview on XBL too, I like how that ugly chick tries to get you to talk mad shit about the other guys, haha. And that Napoleon Dynamite lookin kid who won PGR4, I just expected him to be all "Lucky!"

i'm kinda of late but goods games to all who attended the tourney. Adamyuki what can i say man! i guess i was on fire during the finals cause i wasn't playing like during the round robin, but i as soon as i seen the "high fence stage" in the finals my face lit up like a light bulb. i'm not even going to lie, finals were kinda of in my favor. factoring high fence, the weird angle of the t.v., and the commentator screaming in our ears (which btw didn't affect me at all). everything was just in my favor it was just up to me to put my game together. but good shit nonetheless. hopefully i can attend the nationals event but i don't if i can cause of school, so might have to give someone my spot. but if i do hopefully i'll play just as good as the invitational.
