1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Depending on where you live, VF5FS on PS3 was actually better than US's netcode. If you're not close to a server, then playing someone nearby you is better with pure P2P connection than the weird server based connection that VF5US has.

Hmmm, it would be nice to see a list of actual places people lived where VF5FS PS3 plays better online than VF5US?

The PS3 desync issues was quite common (not for me, but those participating in online tournaments in both North America and Europe I organized). Unless the PS3 became more stable after I stopped playing online.

I don't know about desyncs, but I've heard people living in Victoria, Australia say that the connection from VIC to VIC is now worse because it has to run through a relay in Sydney first.

I am playing Online Ranked regularly in the last few weeks. To be fair, nothing is perfect Online and that includes Rollback netcode. Just learning a new character, Vanessa, I'm on level 24 now on the way to level 25.

According to my experience, "Green" bars connection is Great, "Yellow" bars are still very playable and I rarely have any execution issues at all. "Red" bars are sometimes good and sometimes laggy, but most of the time are still playable.

I encountered mostly "Yellow" and "Red", occasionally "Green", playing mostly with people around the world. I also never had any issues finding anyone to play Online Ranked, the average waiting time is about 30 seconds.

I also set my connection preference quality to "Any". I live in Victoria, Australia. I'm having fun Online, honestly, it's not as bad as what some people have shared in this forum. :D:ROTFL::LOL:

PS: Obviously, your Internet cabled connection also have to be fast and reliable, which I do have here in my area. It does not matter how good the game netcode is, if your internet connection quality is questionable then most likely you'd have issues online.

"uh oh i can see the characters on my screen, it's fine, it's playable" ...

No, it's not enough for fighting games.

This online is absolutely trash in 2022. One of the worst among the recent fighting games.

Saying that VF5FS PS3 netcode was better, that just tells how bad this netcode is.

Green bars connections are not good at all, they are just "ok" or fake. And yellow bars connections, i just don't play that.

Sorry to be rude guys and salty of course, but i can't stand to see what they did/do with Virtua Fighter.

You should join the Virtua Fighter Australia facebook page or the discord, we have players in Aus regularly looking for matches online that you can join :) It'll be much better than playing Americans/Europeans etc.
