weird and funny thing

so we were all gathered around the VF3TB arcade and I was sparring
against Llanfair when this happened...

I'm Jeff, Llany's Kage. I open with E-TE-G anticipating either
a sidekick or run in throw from Llanfair's kage. Llany however
chooses to open with a helix-heelkick (b+P, k). I'm in the
middle of my dodge when his helix hits me. Nothing bizarre there,
is there? Wait for it.....

Immediately (were talking instantaneous) after being struck by the
helix, Jeff sidethrows Kage! There was nothing Llanfair could do
about it, he didn't even get to see the last part of his combo
come out. He hits me, I get instant throw.

It was a lot like the Kurai Nage (sp?) Taka has only this was with
jeff. Anyway, anyone have any similar stories?

Well, is that related to the WS(while-standing) animation of kage in which his K from b+p,K is the same as his d+K+G???

I find sth similar using my Taka to any character that the folowing is seen:

I do a hand sweep and turn into the D, b+P+G throw. The opp eat the sweep and suddenly----my taka TELEPORT to the back side of opp and get the side throw as I enter the throw command.

Is that similar with what you are facing???

may i suggest try and reproduce in the arcade's "training mode"? actually, i don't know if "training mode" works on two player arcade.
