The other day I came up against an Akira ranked champion in quest mode and promptly lost the first 2 rounds using my usual tactics. In the third round I thought I would try to be a bit more defensive than usual and ended up countering every one of his moves for the next 3 rounds (I use Aoi). I saved the replay but unfortunately can't post it. I just thought it was a bit weird particularly at that rank. I suppose if you were going to do it to any character it would have to be akira though.

I noticed that someone asked a question a while ago about Akira fearing Aoi's counters and I suppose this supports his view.

What do you mean counters?

You mean reversals right? ie Aois mid reversal command + can reverse a hell of a lot of Akiras moves (sgpm, side kick, knee, DE, SDE, f+P pounce, SPoD, dbpm, shrm, power fist, evading bodycheck etc...).

At the end of the day ai rank means nothing. There are flaws to its game. A human player would instantly realise that you need to mix up hit levels of moves between high, mid and low to prevent constant mid reversing.

And you are right, it would never have happened againnst a human.

 

Haha I've actually managed to do something like that to people before. I was playing against my brother with Brad while he used Aoi. All I did the entire fight was Slipping right and then for three rounds and I won with minimal damage taken!
