    what are some basic strings to keep the pressure on your opponent using lion?

    In general, I don't think you would want to overemphasize strings in your game because strings are pretty predictable and some of them having gaping weaknesses.

    But it is worth discussing strings anyways...

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    Your basic string, but also one of the most important for almost every character. Whenever you block a standing attack that has a guaranteed counter, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is your guaranteed counter.

    Whenever you block some big attack that leaves the opponent standing (not crouching), /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif immediately.

    Lion's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif has some wonderful options. For the most part, just do the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif in most cases. But if your opponent starts to low punch after getting hit (or even blocking) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif do the followup /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is special high and it punishes low punches. It's also VERY DELAYABLE which makes it a wonderful special high (it's hard for most players to resist hitting low punch in this situation).

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    A good wall pressure string that will add to combos. This is not a string to abuse, but it's quite good when used appropriately. If you hit the opponent with the retreating punch, you'll have a chance to use TRSF (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) and add some flair to your pressure game. In this situation, I like using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif from TRSF.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    A fanciful sequence but it can be interrupted or it can leave you wide open if you are not careful. If you successfully hit with the spinning attack, you have a combo. If it's blocked, you have a few options--my favorite being /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif which will punish any low punch habits from any opponent who blocks the sequence.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    The first move is really good. The second move, only really good when punishing people who are susceptible to low punching or eating delayed attacks. Either way, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif should be in every Lion player's repertoire, so it's worth mentioning the string.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    Is a nice string from the VF4 days, but isn't as commonly used in VF5. I think this string is more useful for advanced players than beginners or intermediates--despite looking so simple. I wouldn't use it too much, but here are the things I like about it:

    -/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is a nice basic poke in place of High Punch. You can use it very much like high punch. I tend to start rounds with this attack.

    -/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif alone isn't all that great, except that if you do connect with the second hit, you can force a guessing game on your opponent:

    --> followup punch if you think the opponent will block low or attack. If you interrupt an attack, you get a nice combo opportunity. In fact, an easy combo is to do the whole 3 hit sequence /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif two more times (silly when a combo is the same sequence three times in a row).

    --> throw if you think opponent will block high or evade.

    --> delayed attack/catch throw/sweep if you think opponent will do ETEG (Evade Throw Escape Guard).

    awesome man...thanx...juss started playin vf5 and im tryin out all the characters...the last time i played was during the vf 2 days...thanx again fo the info...il try to improve...
