Just curious to find out what broadband plans everyone is on? I've long been of the understanding that Australia is really behind in terms of broadband service quality and price, so I'd just like some real examples /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

To aid comparison, please specify the following:

    Down speed in bps
    Up speed in bps
Download Quota per month (if any)
    Cost per month (in USD)

    Here's mine:

Down: 9.9 Mbps (theoretical, but rarely achieved)
    Up: 256 kbps
    Quota: 20 GB/month (additional 20 GB off-peak, effectively 40GB)
    Cost: $65 USD/month

My record using comcast's 8MB plan without my router is

    Down: 22,579 kb/s
    Up: 2,301 kb/s
    Ping: 18 <50 Miles away.
    Quota: Not sure really.
    Cost: $60 a month I believe.

EDIT: With my router just now it was

    Down: 5,635 kb/s
    Up: 2,287 kb/s
    Ping: 20ms <50 Miles away.

I noticed today a huge difference between the 4MB and 8 MB packages. I played with my friend in California with the 8MB package, and it was the best I've had yet.

Cox High Speed Internet Plan (Orange County, California) - This is the plan beyond the 'basic internet'. It is supposedly their highest speed cable plan.

Down speed in bps: 20,069 Kb/s
Up speed in bps 1,009 Kb/s
    Download Quota per month: none
Cost per month (in USD): $45 (I'm not quite sure)

shiz, lets try out a game later. We both have over 1k ul speeds so I want to see what kind of connection we're gonna get.

Gerald - let's do it. It's been pretty fun online. Of the 12 or so games I have had about 3 laggy ones but those were out of state. The best games I've had were from LA based people and most all the rest were pretty damn good.

I'll be on later - I think I sent it before but I'll PM my GamerTag.

You're near TO right. That's a great test. I'm interested in our test as well as one with Dustin and my friend Anthony.
