What do you think about these pro DOAers on TV?

I didn't know about these tournaments. But meh after watching countless of J-VF games it feels kinda awkward. It's like PRIDE and the UFC. Here some videos Championship Gaming Invitational(CGI) I read that some of these "pro" players competed in the WCG too. Anyone has DirectTV?

What a poor game! If girls are pros then the game sucks period. Girls get owned by men in "real" fighting games, everyone knows that... COME ON!!!

I really cannot watch those vids. Not only does the commentator sound worse than the English VF5 ones, but also because of the actual gameplay of DOA4, that really sickens me.

Wow a tournament in a game where every game is a toss up lol!
How appropiate Women using Women. Itagaki would have loved it this way. I used to love DOA just cause the hits was Hard and the backgrounds was lovely but the shit is broken and the Women are Kings (Wait do that make sense?). Is there a Mercy rules in this tournament cause i don't see any forced get ups at all. Basically all of them are trash period. Same Gimmicky moves that get ripped apart all day.

I'm excited for the people who engage in these competitions. I think they're living out their dream.

It's just unfortunate that the games that are usually hyped up here in the US aren't games that I find any interest in, usually because the games that are hyped aren't very technical at all.

I personally have had bad experiences with most of the doa players when I play them in other games because they always try to tell me I'm wrong for saying that doa isn't very technical.

To each his own.

Doa isn't a very fun game to watch, there's really no execution wall in that game, and pressing a button in 1 of 3 directions can turn the tide of the game.

Then I remembered how I had fun playing this game (at least more than Tekken, really /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif )
After that I heard the numbers (10k$ for winning, nice).
Then I saw the fuckin' prick. This Master guy. I know he's good 'n' all, but he could at leat show a better attitude.
In Poland there is Mashter, a Tekken player just like him. Once a very good one, but always an arrogant fuck!

...what do I expect from ppl with different variations of "master" in their nicks... after all they named themselves like that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Professional DOA players? They should be ashamed of themselves for investing so much time in such a crap game. I mean, damn! Tecmo has ripped of AM2 so much they make Namco seem imaginative!

Depends on how you look at that, looks to me like Master, well not just him all of those players, invested time into making $10,000. There's also other DOA players that be making more than that.

You can't really knock them for that.

Even though I don't really like that game, and it sucks that THAT is the game that's being played there about above all other fighters that I consider better, atleast due to this thing there's more people playing fighting games and video games is making people alot of money these days. So it's not some super non-productive hobby anymore.
