1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

What happened with Suzuki's plan?

Years ago I read an article in which Yu Suzuki was interviewed. Yu was asked when we would see realistic looking characters in vf (as in actually realistic), Suzuki replied that by vf5 this would happen.

And by simple calculations based on a predictable and reasonable generational leap in hardware power, this was a fair assessment. He also stated that vf5 would be the last vf.

    So, what happened?

As you can guess, I'm a little disappointed. Not so much because I expected more graphically, but by the probability that we'll be playing this game for the next five years. Maybe it's just me, but 2010 is kind of late in the tech industry to still be playing with what are essentially toy looking human models.

Simple: Suzuki really had no idea what he was talking about.

Not the first time that's happened.

    wait

In 18 months Sega will release Evo-esque upgrade to VF5.

    Virtua Fighter 5: Trespasser Edition

If you hit too hard your hand will hurt and then combos will do less damage. You will also have to stretch properly before fighting by way of mini game.

Also there will be rocks and things on the ground, you have to be careful where you step, otherwise you will trip and fall or maybe injure your foot or sprain an ankle. PLEASE USE SAFETY PRECAUTION

No kidding. I expected to buy the game and be able to do all that shit in real life.

    I mean seriously, WTF.

I remember Suzuki talking about how he wanted real-time deformation of the ground as well(this was before VF4 came out). For example in the VF3 desert stage you slam down the opponent and a new hole is made that could potentially fuck up your stance and movement if came across over it.

I think they look very realistic. The skin especially.

Well I don’t have much to say but I think it’s a good game. And a note this is a port from the arcade to console. So the game maybe not uses all the PS3 power unless they made the game from zero.
