What if VF ever gets a movie?

Tekken, if you haven't known or you don't go to Tekken Zaibatsu , has a movie in the works. HOPEFULLY, it wont come out as CRAP like in most Video Game to Movie titles (I.E. Street Fighter). -.- SO, if VF gets a movie...

    - Would you want it to be in CG or maybe the Chun Li girl in street fighter the movie can play her role instead?
    - Would you want it to revolve on the story or have a sort of different tale?
    - Who should be the main character? Akira? Jacky? PAI /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif ?
    - More on Story or More on Fight?

Make the VF movie something like Bloodsport. Be sure the plot revolves around the tournament, no goofy-ass side stories about espionage, Kage mom-Dural blah blah blah, J6, etc. Throw in tainted romance if you want...

Akira and Pai realize a long standing desire for eachother, then she eliminates him from the tournament. They're left to struggle with the mental anguish.

Lau battles Lion, breaks his leg during a PPPK, loses, and commits suicide that night to escape the humiliation. Lion, in all his "go home, old man" glory, later loses to a ridiculously intoxicated Shun (who vomits during his victory celebration).

Brad misses his train and is disqualified for not showing up on time.

Jacky is bankrupt from lack of sponsers for his racing efforts and can't afford to go.

Sarah feels obligated to help her brother pursue other business ventures and seethes in resentment about how fucked up her life is. She goes to the tournament anyway and is humiliated by Aoi, casting her further into paralyzing depression.

Aoi defeats Pai and Shun (who is so hammered that he's led away in a daze and forgets he was ever entered in the tournament).

Wolf is pit against Aoi and shudders at the idea of such a mismatch in physical size. He resolves to fight anyway, not wanting to appear chauvanistic. His opening move is an MC knee which breaks her jaw. He's declared and winner of the match but resigns in disgust over the senslesness. He offers to help with Aoi's medical bills but is turned away by her family.

Vanessa defeats Jeffery in a very close match. She fights against Kage, who loses 2-3 in the final round by ringing himself out on a botched TFT combo attempt.

Goh engages Lei-Fei and accidentally kills him during the fight. He is fraught with remorse. He tries to defend his position to Lei-Fei's childhood friends... "Lei-Fei entered this tournament on his own free will, I didn't mean to kill him..." Goh is found dead within the hour.

Vanessa wins by default as she would've fought Goh in the final. Her victory is hollow. She comforts herself that she had a legitimate win over Jeffery, and mostly legitimate over Kage.

She goes home silently to train for the next tournament.

    LOL

    LOL. Some anecdotes.

Sarah tries out for DOA. But she feels very insecure about her bust size compared to the rest of the cast. Everbody also thinks that she's way too overdressed. In frustration, Sarah tries to kick all of them DOA cast's arses. But the DOA crew reverse every single of Sarah's moves, using the liberal DOA reversal system. "Man, Aoi was never like this!" - Sarah.

Jacky is finally identified as being a Super Saiyen. He hangs out with the DBZ crowd for a while, and comes back. Now he wins every match by default, because nobody is sticking around waiting for him to finish posturing before the match.

Vanessa sticks her finger into a light socket and gets fried. Somebody sees this, and sues her for impersonating Storm.

Kage changes his dragon punch, to a dragon butt, to avoid lawsuit. Spiral Arrow remains as is, as Cammy is too brain dead to notice.

Pai learns the Spinning Bird Kick, but under the adivice of her lawyers, calls it a Rotating Avian Foot Strike.

Akira learns the Hadoken, but never throws it, also under the advice of his lawyers. One day, the ki just piles up, but his lawyers still advise him not to throw it. So his arms end up exploding, and he gets a new role in Time Killers.

Shun starts drinking Pepsi to avoid lawsuit. He later replaces Britney Spears as the leading Pepsi person. Shun gets his own DDR game. Teeny boppers all over the world starts dressing like Shun.

    Re: LOL

More fun than all this is .. . what real life actors and actresses would you cast to play the roles of the VF characters? I'm sure it's been done before.

Akira: I can't think of a single well-known japanese actor at the moment. Sonny chiba was mentioned but seems off in the looks department.
Kage: I am told this is to be john lone, with no questions. The evil boss bastard in Rush Hour 2. [IMG]
Jacky: Shit, I dunno. Van Damme /versus/images/icons/smirk.gif
Sarah: A youngish Sharon Stone?! Kylie minogue was also mentioned... http://66.78.34.190/~bollywoo/wallpapers/celeb/imgs/kylie05.jpg
Wolf: Graham Green II? But I dunno if he can look buff. [IMG]
or Wes Studi (american indian guy, was Sagat in SF:tm)
Jeffry: That's a tough one. The only beefy black actor I can think of is Ving Rhames (from pulp fiction)... but wait! Delroy Lindo. Stick a rasta wig on him and it's all good. He's even pretty big. [IMG]
Lau: Easy, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa [the mortal kombat guy who played shang tsung]. Lau was made after this guy. [IMG] (he looks older now, don't worry)
Pai: [IMG] ... ming-na, awwjeah. I originally thought lucy liu, but she's just more sarah-like than pai-like.
Shun: to play it right, you have to put jacky chan in heavy makeup. There's no other option.
Lion: Ugh. Leonardo DiCaprio. He may be even too fruity for fruityboy. He'll need to beef up.
Aoi: stumped. She looks like an asian sandra bullock or something.
Taka: Get a real sumo who's charismatic looking and doesn't look at the camera when he grunts. There was an E.Honda in SF, but I doubt he'd look as japanese as I'm thinking.
    Lei Fei: gordon liu. [IMG]
Vanessa: Toughie. We're thinking of resorting to an olympian.
http://www.wnba.com/media/playerfile/sheryl_swoopes.jpg (sheryl swoopes of the wnba) has been mentioned, as has marion jones.

This is good stuff Creed, especialy the one for lau Shang Tseung is a definite lookalike. Also i think Jet-li would make a good lei fei,i seen him playing the role of a monk in 'Twin Warriors he was pretty good.

    Re: LOL

thought of jet li too (and also jet li for kage) but he's got a very round face, lei's got a pretty narrow face and the eyes are different. So far Lau and Pai are the only truly perfect ones, but I need some good ideas for akira and jacky. Someone pointed out that akira doesn't look especially japanese in VF4 - so he could be played by almost anyone.

that's not a bad thought... there were brothers right? And he ended up breaking one's neck. They were pretty big and beefy, but then jacky's gotten more beefy with each new VF, so they might work.
    http://www.cyril-raffaelli.com/an/wallpaper-kod.jpg

and I can't find a pic of didier azoulay at all, so I dunno. I guess this guy in a pinch is a good jacky (cyril) as he's already got martial art skills.

I have to disagree about the Pai - Ming Na Wei choice...Ming Na Wei has a round, plumpish, and kind of lost/dazed look. Plus, if I'm not wrong, she has zero martial arts background.

I think Zhang Zhiyi from Crouching Tiger is a better choice for Pai. Both have feminine, elven like features, and both have lithe, slender bodies. As far as I can tell from a videogame, of course.

    Re: LOL

Yeah, I think Ming Na Wen does have zero martial arts back ground, and i think that - not just for her - any actor should not be casted if he doesnt know martial arts no matter how much he looks like the character. otherwise it just looks really stupid when they try and do the moves (like Brigette Wilson as Sonja inthe MOrtal Kombat movie where they had to repeatedly cut shots coz she couldnt do clean flips or roundhouse kicks).

Instead of Ming Na, Kelly Hu would make a much better Pai (or even Aoi). Kelly's the chick from Martial Law. She can kick ass for real.

And that Gary Takawakablablabla guy does make an excellent Lau and he also has the skills for it.

If this was 1978, Gordon Liu would be Lei Fei. But Liu is too old now, unfortunately. However, he is absolutely perfect for Shun. His Drunken Fist is just as good as anything else he has done; watch SHAOLIN DRUNKEN MONK. This has to happen.

Kage is not exactly a young guy, which is why the greatest ninja actor of all time should play him: Yasuaki Kurata. Go to http://www.fan.hi-ho.ne.jp/kurata/

Michael Clarke Duncan as Jeffrey, needs beard and rasta but is the kind of hulk you need and can act some.

Aoi, my video game love? Well, Michiko Nishiwaki comes to mind: she's got the b-movie background, and she's hot. Before anyone goes on about her bodybuilding, I'd imagine Aoi is pretty damn cut under those robes. Go to http://martialarts.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.geocities.com%2Fmichikonishiwaki%2Fhome.html

Angela Basset for Vanessa: I don't care if Basset is 41, she's built for it and she's a hot pistol. Might make Vanessa attractive to me. Basset would be perfect, with her hair streaked white, not solid white.

Ziyi Zhang from CROUCHING TIGER is obvious, since she truly is Pai personified.

Michiko Nishiwaki as Aoi: yeah I know Aoi is just a teenager,
and I know VF reflects the Japanese obsession with young
schoolgirls having adventures, getting bukkaked, whatever...but
realistically there's not going to be a teenager who ever lived good
enough to fight in such a tournament, so why not give Aoi a little
    maturity? It'd make sense, anyhow...

By the way, Gordon Liu is coming back to American screens to kick
everybody's ass. Quentin Tarantino hired Liu (one of the top 1970s kung-fu
stars right up there with Lee and Chiba) to play Master Pai Mei in KILL BILL.
Chiba's in it as well. Gordon Liu is one of the greats, so Tarantino knows what
    he's doing there.

So you want to make a VF4 movie, eh? Sorry, but i don't think you can think of anything that will make a smash hit...

    Re: LOL

i don't know if you guys noticed but the guy behind tagawa (shang tsung on MK the movie) in the pic would make a good kage, i mean he's not as old but he sure got skills and he's portayed a ninja before in chris farley's movie, which i think he played really well. i think if they're gonna make VF a totally action packed movie jacky chan wouldn't fit in, because he like to add comedy to his movie routines so unless they make a really goofy and funny shun, jacky chan is not an option.

Does it really matter who plays Kage?
Doesnt have to be anyone famous, just as long as the guy can do flips, they can put a mask on him and voila!, you got Kage.

How do u think Halle Berry will do as a Vanessa? Halle's not really buff enough but she does look pretty good ina white wig (ala Storm). I reckon she'll be a convincing Vanessa.

    Re: LOL

shit, the qualification for vanessa should be a little deeper than "black" "female" and "not hideous" ... nessa's tall, muscular, more than a little macho... I'd put wesley snipes in drag there before I'd put halle barry.

    "I'm not really halle barry!"
    "you're not?!"
"I'm really... barry bonds! Come over here, sailor!"

    Re: LOL

in the previous games if you have played it you can unmask kage so i'm thinking this will also be present in a movie (common sense) IMO, at one point i agree, but if ever he was to be unmasked i think maybe someone familiar would be good.

as for halle berry, i'm not quite sure she's up to it, plus also like what creed said, Vanessa is really buff for a chick. wesley snipes in drag with a white wig!! LOL, too funny and weird. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif
