I think the problem with Shôichi Kosugi is he (I believe) vanished off the face of the planet; I don't think anyone knows what became of him. I may be thinking of someone else, though.

While I'm dreaming, I'd like Hwang Jang Lee to play Lau Chan...I know Lee is Korean, and I know he's mostly known as the greatest kung-fu KICKER of all time, but Lau is not a kicking slouch, and Hwang Lee is the right age and his hand techniques are just as good as his kicks. The thing about a VF movie is you'd have to have charisma in your actors, either by their respective martial arts history or through plain old talent, because the characters in VF, though great, are pretty generic. I mean this in a good way. Shun is every old fella who ever dreamed of being young(ish) again; Lei Fei looks like any typical Shaolin monk, nothing out-standing at all; Akira the bohunk could be driving a taxi or selling insurance; Sarah, Aoi, and Pai, look like any beauty on a L'Oreal hair-color box...so on. Everyman types, which is the point. VF will need serious martial arts ACTORS to make it work.

I dont know about Lennox Lewis as Jeff...Lewis is too tall and not stocky enough...
I think Michael Clarke Duncan is a better candidate so far...all he needs is a rasta and bermuda shorts...hahah..ok i'm picturing that right now.....
Duncan's only problem is that he might be too big...I dont think Jeff is "that" big.

Hey, what about Ving Rhames? He's a bit old, but he has the body for it...

Too bad there arent any hot blonde chicks who know martial arts to act as Sarah.
You know what, the makers of VF:movie can just be real cheap and wait till the makers of the Tekken Movie to cast Nina Williams and then hire that actress..hehehe...they're pretty much identical.

I thought of her, but she's too young and bigeyed and short ... that's sarah michelle gellar. Everyone thinks of her as buffy or a teen slut airhead, which isn't really mature enough to be a badass martial artist like sarah.

I actually can picture lennox lewis as jeffry. From the stats, I think jeff is pretty tall... maybe the tallest character.

Gordon Liu for Lei Fei ,as mentioned earlier. He looks looks uncannily like Lei.

I was thinking of Utada Hikaru for Aoi. Even though I hate J-Pop, you can't miss this chic. The cover of her latest album she looks quite 'cool' and not for the Japanese innocent slut next door look that the rest of them go for. I couldn't find a pic of it, but I did find this one. DOesn't really fit the bill for me:

George Michael has the voice down..but I dont think he can fight, except for his special nutgrab moves... ok, thats gross...so he cant be Jacky...I dont think Jacky's that gay...

Sarah Michelle Geller can jump around a bit, but she definitely does not look like Sarah. Sarah B is much taller and has a nicer body.

What about that girl from "Alias" as Sarah. Just put a wig on her...her name is Jennifer Garner. Apart from her face she'd be a good Sarah - and its not like anybody actually pays attention to Sarah's face. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

 

The hardest thing about Sarah is the heigth and the long legs.

The hardest part about Lion & Jeffry is that you need a Frenchi & Aussie respectively, that speak awful English with perfect North American accents.

 

I want to play AKIRA YUKI in the VF Movie. Except that I'm 2 inches shorter than he is.

As much in love as I am with Aoi, I think any beautiful Japanese woman could play her. I mean, it's not just that I have an unreal jones for Oriental women, but Aoi will be an unknown actress. Sarah is problematic; but I think they should stay away from supermodels and just go with girl next door; maybe that chick from BLUE CRUSH (hey, the movie is actually pretty cool) Kate Bosworth (http://www.enzogiobbe.com/celebphoto48.html#48A)...she's cut and needs training, but what the hell. She's a bunny, and the girls in VF, aside from hardass Vanessa, are all about being disarming before they waste you.

Jacky: you need a cocky punk with a hot temper and a lot of mouth who loves emulating Bruce Lee. Where are you gonna find one of those in Hollywood?
Anybody remember the superkicker from Jackie Chan's WHO AM I? I can't remember what his physical dimensions are, but this guy had a vicious kicking style, ALL kicking. Maybe a Jacky type, but probably too light in the ass. There's always Ray Park, but he ain't no handsome girly man, though we'll have to see how made up he gets for IRON FIST, based on the Marvel character.

Akira: the guy is a stiff, I mean I don't think Akira has much in the way of expression or anything, so basically any hunky super-middleweight Karate professional could pull that off: you just go find the Steve Reeves of the Karate circuit and there you go.
