What will you like to see in VF5?

    first i would like the two new charcters to get taken out and their code deleted forever.

    we don't need a dumbass mexican style wrestler. we've got wrestling games for that (plus i don't play those. so screw that idea). plus DOA 4 is already having one. and what's up with DOA 4 having a Baji style chick in it? did the two companies get together and trade new charcter ideas just to screw up the originality of both fighting series? is this going to turn into a rip-off contest SNK/CAPCOM style?

    and we don't need monkey style kung fu. throwing off the entire feel to the gameplay. monkey kung fu is going to be awkward just like Shun. making Shun a less unique charcter overall /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

    so all i want is the new charcters gone. and replaced with a good idea.

    then i'd like to have more customization options for new items and costumes. and i'd be happy.

    Its not the idea, but the implementation that counts.

    Agreed. All fighting games share similar fighting styles, but it's how the characters are played that counts. I like seeing different companies take on various fighting styles, and it never really bothers me when a game 'borrows' a fighting style from another game.

    Although I have to admit, I sorta went "hands off the SPOD bitch/versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif!" when I first saw the DOA clip with Kokoro /versus/images/graemlins/blush.gif

    At least Sega haven't completely stopped trying and given a new character the deadly martial art of...dance.

    Statistics kept like in the original virtua fighter 4

    Blocking animations added similar to those attempted in

    I shall tell you what VF needs:

    Redesign of all VF characters, its shockingly bad
    Some story perhaps
    More detail in some ultrashitty undetailed characters *cough brad*

    Other than that, VFs pretty l33t not HaXxOr etc

    More guard animation? That's highly possible because I dont think a normal person can block a jab, an elbow and a knee with the same defense position. Especially for ladies. I can't imagine Aoi, Sarah or Pai block Jeffery's knee and gain advantage. Just look at the size of their hands I am already thinking it's amazing that knee didn't break their arms... So different block animation with various stat for each character(base on weight most likely), it will make the game more realistic and complex. That will be good.

    I think this would cause too many problems, and it could quite easily make certain characters 'broken'. I mean, in reality, if someone tried to block Jeff's knee, they would still come off the worst, but to make Jeff's knee advantage on guard would be stupid.
    Different animations would be fine, as long as they didn't effect the frame data of the moves.....

    No need to be in advantage for the attacking one, but lesser frame advantage light weight characters get after they block a strong attack from a heavy weight character like a knee, like +3/+4? Okay, maybe that's too good for a knee, +6 then. You can still force a throw or attack nitaku with that much advantage. Good?

    Maybe change the animation so they look more like they're deflecting/stepping out of the way (just enough - not an evade). I don't think I would want inherent match-up advantages/disadantages involving frames. There's already weight class to consider when floating.

    I really liked VF3 block-stun/recovery and hit stun/recovery animations (you block a full circular kick and the attacker stumbles a bit). I hope to see them return in greater detail.

    Exactly. If you start trying to add realism to the game, in terms of bigger characters having the advantage of power and strength, and weaker characters being unable to block heavier moves, it will ruin the balance that the game has at the moment. Different animations would be fine, but if you mess with the frames, then 'better' characters will emerge, and before long the game will turn into Tekken...... /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    The bigger characters already do more damage and don't float as high. The heavyweights hardly float at all.

    I know it's a small detail, but I think they should really bring back the 'advice' section from VF4; It was way more detailed than Evo.

    A little off topic but if you hold P+G before a replay it changes the view. The camera tracks its quite fun when you end a round in p+g and the camera swings around. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    Defeat your opponent with Giant Swing -> hold [8_][P]+[G] BEFORE replay starts -> and see same interesting camera action.......
    (there are 2 possibilities: camera from WOLF eyes or camera from opp's eyes, both look great)
