what would happen if UK had a world event

okok, i need some real discussion here~ both from UK manz and interntional manz (and mabye women ) P

basically, i'd like to organize a UK event if it's possible, the way to make it happen is:

A) agreement
B) international interest
C) money (mabye?)

if UK had an event, who from around the world would be interested in attending, and who from UK will help support it.

why?

because VF4 is closing, and VF5 is comming, i feel there are many people i and others havent had a the opportunity to play and / or share experience with, SO LETS DO SOMETHING~!!

UK, u call first~~ would it be worth it ~ and could this happen~

 

From CZE about 2 or 3 ppl will come, if you roganize it.

But important question for us is... Will be pads allowed, will be shoulder buttons allowed - and will be bindings allowed? Most of CZ players play from pad with bindings, and AFAIK minimally in Polland is the situations nearly the same.

But still - I think 2 or 3 ppl will come.

BTW: Do you think about VF4Evo or VF4FT?

 

I dunno, I'd like to help organise an event preferably ft, I will have to speak to a few people first gather relevant info on resources etc,
Pad bindings are not a problem in my eyes, if people want to use them thats fair enough for them, only if it's ft I don't know how feasible or possible it is to set up pad ports with an arcade setup with the bindings option.
There is an option to hold a regular toni like before for ft, visitors are more than welcome, I dunno how popular vf will be to the non regular players though.

 

Off the top of my head, I say wait for VF5 on console to allow for multiple set-ups. Of course if you can have 5 or 6 FT set-ups (which might cost the same as 5 or 6 PS3, VF5, plus hori sticks set-ups), that would work for a more immediate event. I say 5 or 6 because 5 seemed sufficient to handle the 24 person crowd at my house last March (granted 10 people were sleeping on the floor at any given time). Still, maybe wait for VF5.

My recommendation is to have all set-ups available for multiple days of use culminating in a tournament.

It would be great if you could arrange for low-cost accomodations as well.

Also, put together non-VF ideas (places to go, etc) for people who don't normally visit UK.

Just some ideas.

Hmm some sound advice there, I tend to agree with this,
we can have mini ft torni's in the meantime,
but for a big torni the likes of which bk suggests it would require more planning and resources, and waiting for vf5 may be the best option, more time for planning, more setups, more visitors as they have advance warning.

 

As long as you guys gave everyone a heads up on the date of the event & living space is settle. I don't see a problem w/ ppl making a effort of attending.

A) just wanna play VF, dont care about comercialization, trips, etc, just wanna play VF with new people~

B) feel they need worth with their trip, taking in to consideration, they will probably spend alot of money`

C) want a social and enviromental meet with Londoners / scene / VF.

the only reason why i suggested it before VF5 is becasue i feel everybody's pretty much reached their limit with VF4, and i want some challenges before we all become n00bs~!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

P.P.S~ im not too bothered about a big event, some kind of casual organization / gathering is just fine, i'd like to expand the international VF community into UK is all~~

 

Usually, I end up just wanting to play VF, too - but since I've only been to Europe once and that didn't include UK - I want to see some sights.

As far as VF5 and noobism goes - SoCal will be throwing a big VF5 launch on PS3 party to include many days of playing plus a double-elimination tournament. I hope this will be Spring 2007. Most all of us will be new to it - therein lies a lot of the fun. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

 

BK; Get your ass / the UK players to a Swe event instead (for instance Ironmike is already coming) if you want to play new people. I've been whining on Maxi / Bob (tekken guys) to post it in Jamboree forever now but here it is:

i used to think like this, have i reached my limit?

the answer is no way, IMO everyone can reach and go beyond their limit of skills. it really depends on how much time people can afford to sit down and practice 24/7. anyone can improve immensely if that happens, and i certainly won't do that because of work and socialising. plus putting so much time into VF for casual matches during friday nights is not rewarding. however, if there is a huge tournament coming up, then i'm sure it's worth the extra effort, and everyone will improve. maybe not much, but still learning and gaining skills, limit is unlimited.

yeah, i agree with plague, wait for VF5 or at least have 5 FT machines, which is a dream that will never see the light.

if you're organising any tournaments, i'm more than happy to contribute my skills to promote it, in an art form way. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

 

mmm, seams flawed

1: you should get EX points by doing normal UK/london meets

2: even if you did, people like neoempire and rankingbattles already cater for such needs

3: the logiistics of organizing a internation meet is not really worth it, lots of people have tryed and failed, and only really did it to profit and see if tv would be interested... haha

4: vf is dead in uk, full stop

Vf is getting boring, i think im gonna give the game a rest for a while considering 'certain people' keep constantly slating the way I play instead of looking at the faults within there own game.
Hard to enjoy VF for what it is when 'people' are doing that behind your back whilce playing.

yeah people are always gonna moan regardless, it just that before vs city we could hide behind the cabinet so it was more polite,

i need a break anyway, ive always took time off, it helps you re evaluate your game and hopefully get rid of annoying habits. I might give tekken a go,im finding it alot more fun then VF at the mo, but then it is a completly new game for me.

Props to you G-ho for getting wins but I don't have a problem with you or your play style. You can play how you like as far as I'm concerned.
