as in interviews, Yu has said there may be an update of vf4 b4 he starts work on a vf5, what would this update belike? will it be like a vf3TB update or just another vf2.1 update like whats been coming out with a b an c???
well id lov to see him adding the evade button back in vf with 3d backgrounds also!!! hell they even could come up with a new player by just using moves from fv2 i guess! i donno how taka would be as vf4 is more rago an taka is a bit to slow to be in this type o engin, anyways what do u guys think as ur the ones that'll end up spending months on it after its finally out! also will it be naomi2 246/ps2 or x box based?

I think it was a mistake to remove Taka from VF4. They should have at least thrown him in as a hidden character in the PS2 version of VF4. I say bring him back in a future update to VF4. The evade button sucked ass, and I'm glad to see it gone.

For VF5 it would be nice to leave caged arenas and move the combat to real world environments. Not like Tekken 4 or DOA3, but more like Shenmue, with civilians and cars and everything.

Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Muy Thai, Tae Kwon Do, and standard boxing are styles that have yet to appear in VF, so I think it's about time to incorporate them.

Taka just wouldn't be effective in VF4. The emphasis on combos and floats would tear him apart. Especially against Sarah or Lau, despite his obvious heavyweight status he'd be far too vunarble to OTB combos.

To be honest, I never liked him anyway. Though I must say I'm igorant, I never saw the depth to him or his style.

i'm going to get flamed for this.

    1. kill jacky
    2. kill kage
    3. kill easy ringouts IE, make larger rings.

taka was fun to squash people with.........

maybe they should add a twist on the styles they already have, say chokes in aoi's aikido. or even wolf.

now that i think about it, possibly submissions instead of just wins in vf5. say they are in a submission hold/choke/break when energy runs out, they then tap out/ submit automatically instead of the just winning. OH MAN, i'd love to rip kage's arm out of his socket and make him cry....no more TFT.....lol

I would love to see a few things...one, some rings where there are NO RO's..Have sega make them DOA style with undulating terrain (yes, I LOVE 3d terrain).
I would like to see the basic characters get a major overhaul. Make Vanessa more rounded out...give her some more low leg kicks and elbows and combos containing both. Give her some more throwing options. GIve jacky an finger eye jab. Maybe restyle Sara after the main bad guy from The legened of Drunken master...etc...you all see where I am going.
FOr new styles, I would LOVE To see a traditional (NOT OLYMPIC) Taekwondo fighter, I would like to see sega try there hands at a Capoeira fighter and do that style justice (don't get me going on that crap that Namco tried to pull with eddy gordo and his daughter). Ohh..maybe add Lan-Dee from Shenmue II, does he reek of evil and it would be cool to see some characters be cross-platform. A bag-gua (sp?) stylist would be awesome. I'd love to see a Krav-Maga (Israelie martial arts) specalist..make an idf character. Maybe make a character who has a LOT of defensive type moves like special blocks that set up for a few, but very percise and damaging attacks....Man...

What is the purpose of this thread? Are you going to take the replies and give them to Yu? Do you work for Sega? And to add to that, there are already two "VF4 to x-box" threads that have been started.

re: Shadowdean: VF4 already has arenas that don't have ringouts.

Marco Ruas I think is one of the best fighters out there. He uses a Kickboxing or Muay Thai or a similar form along with his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Officially he teaches and practices Ruas Vale Tudo...

UFC 7 is one of the better ones because of Marco's fights alone. Just watching him win his three fights was simply amazing.

    <a target="_blank" href=http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/displayfighter.cfm?fighterid=120>http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/displayfighter.cfm?fighterid=120</a>

His finals victory was a brilliant display of Muay Thai style leg kicks. There's a Chinese saying about "Using a small knife to cut a big tree." After chopping away for 5mins the other guy basically fell over. His lower thigh was black from the punishment. He had a huge weight advantage as well at around 100pounds difference.

His other two wins we're via heel submission and a chest mount (the guy tapped out early to avoid punishment). Also you see him pick up and body slam someone WWF style which is very rare in No Holds Barred combat. The victim was also 30-40 pounds heavier too.

Vanessa seems to ooze Marco Ruas all over from a striking and grappling perspective.

Oh the body slam was done in reversal of an attempted Vannessa style standing choke. Come to think of it Vannesa has those thigh kicks as well as the other joint locks and submissions.

aye, id lov to see more styles:) an not just rush jobs like from tekken, but deep ones like what shun an lion was:) id like to see basicly a hybrid of vf3 an 4 with less fuzzy lodgic, ie 2 do laus d/f-K,f-P,b,f-P you have to do that an not d/f-K,P,P!!! also id liek to see high jumps make a come back as its cool for escaping from a ring out by jumpin:) an basicly id liek 3d stages again with a E buttion:)

"Taka just wouldn't be effective in VF4. The emphasis on combos and floats would tear him apart."

Taka was a float and MC hit throw monster in VF3, any good Taka player could adjust.

"Especially against Sarah or Lau, despite his obvious heavyweight status he'd be far too vunarble to OTB combos."

Eh? Every character is vulnerable to OTB hits now, that's why we have TR and QR rise. And besides Kurita Taka beat Astro Jacky on VF3 when Jacky had PPf+PK, high stomp guaranteed! Now that's a hard fight, I don't see VF4 Sarah or Lau giving the sumo as much trouble.

"To be honest, I never liked him anyway. Though I must say I'm igorant, I never saw the depth to him or his style."

Aw c'mon how can you say that! Listen Adio it's easy enough to write these big ass posts regarding Sarah floats and tactics, but when your at Casino I don't exactly see the 'depth' or 'style' in your Sarah play. Okay that was a bit below the belt, sorry! Just missing the sumo I guess... /versus/images/icons/frown.gif
