Obviously, a lot of the older gamers will say Pong, but it's fun to put things into perspective and see which games were "firsts" for gamers across the board.

Space Invaders on the PC. I believe I was around 6 or 7.
I played a bit on the Atari when I was like 3 but that doesnt really count as I didnt know what was going on.

This brings back memories... Like the old Genises days and the 16-bit Nintendo. I dont think I can remember the FIRST game I played, since I started playing games when I was around two years old. I remember using the Atari and playing the old Super Mario Brothers games.

    Ah memories...

legend of kage in pizza hut. I also fondly remember samurai shodown 1 in the same pizza hut, which burned down and was rebuilt.
SS1's char select music is burnt into my brain.

Anyone seen Jaws lately? At some point in the movie they show this game called Shark Attack (or something) being played...you spear this bloodthirsty shark coming straight for you. This is the first game I remember playing, though whether or not it is technically a videogame is debatable, I suppose.

I can barely remember. I think it was Space Invaders, or some kind of cheap clone of it at the local YMCA. I think I must've been 4 or 5 then. All I can remember for sure is that it used a B&W vector display.

One funny thing I remember is going to the local Jamesway (is this chain still in existence?) store with my Dad every weekend to play the demo unit of the Odyssey. Never did buy it... I know that sounds pathetic, but I grew up in a very small town in upstate New York, and that's about all there was to do.

I thought about it again, I think my first game might be a Helicopter game on a console called M5, a very wild console come with a Keyboard and only one contorller with one stick(very small) and 2 buttons.

Space War in the arcades. BW vector game. Ship looked like Asteroids ship. You fought against a player with a slightly different shaped craft (I think it looked like Enterprise). Screen wrapped around. No drag on your ship - it wouldn't stop unless you thrusted in opposite direction.

Pong machines were still around. But I didn't see many of them.

    Speaking of pong ...

Star Wars: A New Hope on my cousins Commodore 64. It took half an hour to load up, but it was worth it.

I can't remember which game or even the moment.... I just have a picture of myself at the age of 2 or 3 playing on an Intellivision, and I'm not even sure if that was the first game I played. Though I have heard that my mom was a Donkey Kong and Pac Man addict for awhile /versus/images/icons/cool.gif Maybe she put me up to an arcade machine when I was one or less?
