    Hi
I think the main complain is about the buttons, they will last you about 6 months if that.

I swapped mine with sanwas and it was relatively easy.
Some other people might have complaints about the stick and the overall weight of the stick compared to a HRAP, but for a entry level stick I think it's decent.

Buttons. After about 6 months (lol) They started sticking or just not having the same response. I almost did some modding but the price of the stick is 40$ so I figured what the hell I will just buy a new one. I don't have time to mod really.

they are used to the superior VSHG wich is fitted with a Sanwa joystick and buttons. The Ex2 is fine as an entry level stick.

Auvii you should have modded it, I had never done it before and I found it quite easy. I recommend it, otherwise you will have to get another stick in 6 months time.

What sticks do you guys use?

also im not real tech savvy do u think i would be able to mod the buttons fairly easily with no prior exp? does anyone have a guide to how to mod the buttons as well

I had a DOA fighter stick for 2 years and it gave out on the B button. The shit just completely died. I cop a EX2 which is the same exact shit just heavier. AS far entry level goes it don't matter what the shit is i still gets my shit off.

What other's said, the Ex2 buttons will wear out, as does the stick itself (Im an Akira player and I do lot more stick motions than an average player). In my Ex2 the stick got stiffer and stiffer up to the point where it was nearly unplayable. The reason I traded up however was because the punch button became really unresponsive. And changing buttons to Ex2 is about as much trouble as modding the whole stick.

As new the Ex2 is perfectly ok for a starting players stick. It just doesnt last in the long run.

Currently I have a modified Hori Real Arcade Pro stick 2 (originally ps2 stick) that has been modified with Ex2's circuitboard so its now 360-compatible and replaced its buttons and stick-parts with new Sanwa parts. Im very happy with it. I also have a backup new Ex2.

Modding a stick with no prior experience is bit on the tough side, but you can do it if youre willing to accept a few retries. (A tech-savvy friend modified my custom RAPS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif Thank you _Hex_ )

Yea my punch button is going out on me right now, works like 80% of the time and the stick is starting to feel a lil funny. Been about 4 months since I got it.

I've just started using my new EX2. We'll see how long it lasts. How much does a typical mod to Sanwa parts cost? And are Sanwa parts pretty much indestructible?

itll cost you around $40 (including tools of course) and about 6 hours of time

Ah, so the $40 buy-in is why people just buy a new EX2.

I'm of the opinion that buying a new EX2 will get you nowhere in the end. It's like exchanging a piece of crap with another one. Even if you exchange the buttons with Sanwa ones, the stick itself is still crap: it doesn't provide the player with a big enough place for resting his hands on it, and the joystick unit is simply swampy.

I'd even go this far to claim that buying a modded VSHG, the new HORI Pro EX, or a custom arcade stick is, in the end, cheaper than modding the EX2 and much better more comfortable to play with.

Yeah, the one thing I'm finding about the EX2 is that there isn't much real estate on the face to rest your hands on. The joystick doesn't seem very precise either; I find a lot of my joystick moves blend together. That may be my poor technique, but even when I try intently it's difficult.

What would you suggest for my next joystick once the EX2 starts to give up the ghost? Is a Hori Real Arcade Pro the only option outside of a custom stick?

if your really serious get a arcade in a box custom stick (just arcade in a box)

I wish I had found out about how crap the 360 Horis are sooner. Then I wouldn't have gotten my 360. My PS3 horis are still good aftera year of abuse.

Welp, After a year of playing, My Xbox 360 Hori EX Fighting Stick worn out. I had brought two. One have a sticky "A" button and the other sometimes couldn't press "Right".

Hopefully, the street fighter controllers would be better than Hori. Hopefully a better D-pad or Joystick.

I dont think ex2 has bad diagonal inputs. At least originally. You can always check WCG vids, Danny was playing with Ex2 most of the time.

With the approaching availability of the Standard Edition Fightstick from MadCatz for SFIV the Hori EX2 will hopefully be the way of the dinosaur.

I don't understand why Hori would put out complete shit like the FS3 or EX3 when they make the Real Arcade Pro as well. If someone is going to buy a stick and they know enough to get a Hori surely they'd spend the extra $30 for a RAP.
