I'm pretty new to the arcade stick thing. Also I'm just starting to learn.

So basically all these negative response towards the Hori ex2 fighting arcade stick. It seems that it isn't a good stick at all.

Can someone give me all the negative comments of what is wrong with it? Is it the feeling? Hard to replace? Because, I am thinking about replacing the cabinets for it and I hope it is easy :-D

    I own 3 EX2 and 6 agetec and 2 VF4Evo and 2 HRAPEX, so I reckon I have a clue of what I am talking about:

The EX2 is on par with the others low-budget Hori sticks, so it's a entry-level stick. Button quality is poor and they are bound to fail after 4 months of heavy usage, but you can mod them with a bit of work.

The HRAPs are better quality, easy to mod.

Of course the EX2 is no good for a seriuos-minded player, but theay are a nice cheap option as entry level sticks. I paid 20 pounds for 2 of them and 30 for the Japanese limited edition.

A custom stick will cost you anywhere between 100-200 pounds, plus the postage. But it will be the last stick you will ever buy!

Of course not everybody has got the money to buy custom sticks.
IF you have the money, then of course go for the best possible option....

ha, lucky, I got too excited for one and payed 60 for both. I hope they bring more of those Street fighter 4 Tournament edition arcade stick because I surely don't know how to custom built one.

I got lucky. I've put it through a pretty good beating for the past year and I just recently noticed the punch button stopped working. Looking up Sanwa parts as I type.

Hey if you are going to mod your ex stick. Send a video tutorial on how to do it. It would be greatly appreciated.

My buttons aren't as bad as the stick is now. It's too damn loose all of a sudden. Anybody know if there's a way I can re-tighten the stick itself without spending on brand new parts?

Open it up, take the joystick apart, tug on the spring a little bit to stretch it out.

I've had my Ex.2 for two years now and it's still working just fine. There's no sign of it crapping out just yet.
