Depends on the genre. I have a soft spot for Android 1: The Reactor Run on the ZX Spectrum at the moment.

 

Oof, probably not a popular choice, but I've got a real soft spot for Muchi Muchi Pork. Love getting those big gold chunks as fast as possible, and the whole meter management aspect is really fun. Not so hot on the boss milking, but the stages are great.

Maniac in Mushi Futari is a close 2nd, I think most people love that though, Ultra is a bit much for me. SDOJ is worth a mention, hitting the overflow is one of the most fun things you can do in a shmup, but seriously, Hibachi/Inbachi are just too hard. Clearing that you're crawling over the line a broken mess.

 

You're showing your age there Marly. Young bucks like me have never even heard of that one. Nope. If it's not TikTok, Temu, or Roblox, I am oblivious to it's existence.

 

Another one I like, is Ikaruga too. The story might be depressing, but the game is fun and challenging. That game is also a graphical masterpiece. I have it for nintendo gamecube.

 

Yeah, the game is kinda tough. I know the feeling.
