doesn't something have to be the reason. Share some of the reasons
people give you for losing. Me, I generally just say it's because
they are awesome which apparently is worse than saying you suck.
What are some of your excuses or excuses you've heard?

Damn! Another day, another topic. Common ones for me that I hear are (no particular order):

    1. Same damn combo over and over again.
    2. Got lucky (which on rare occasion is true)
    3. Controls (kinda valid in cases since M.S. pads suck balls, but I digress)
    4. Lag (when there WAS NONE). Had it happen on my first demotion match when I was 8th Dan. Lei Fei user probably thought I was a "mark." Folks, you can underestimate Aoi at your own peril.
    5. I WAS blocking that. Folks, it's hard to attack and block at the same time...especially if I'm in the process of smacking you around when you're STILL trying to attack. The OTHER button is the one you use to block.

    Reasons I lose:
    1. I get predictable, I lose. That simple.
    2. Lag. No, it does NOT help me win. If anything, my timing goes out the window and I'm reduced to being...yes, a one combo wonder or Heaven forbid...a button mashing IDIOT.
    3. The guy/girl I'm going up against is just plain BETTER than me, it happens.
    4. Opponent is more than prepared for me, also putting me into "predictable."
    5. Someone drops, or I get dropped.
    6. My wireless more than often sucks (most of you know what I'm talking about), but I deal with that too. To that end, I apologize to all the skilled players here.

I don't hear very much about this from others but the obvious ones show like lag or whatever but panther covers just about everything I have said

Usually "It's lag!" is the main one.

AssassinCP usually blames me for using characters that, "Do what you tell them to do". (Apparently Wolf is stubborn that way.)

Well for me most of my losses I beleive are from lag. I know it sounds like an excuse but using Akira I know what I need to do, and when I need to do it. Lag causes me serious problems just because of my ' STYLE '. I love to do things at the last moment because Im a 'learner'. I watch you and learn your tendecies as quick as I can. Lag can destroy my timing, like I mostly do dash elbow and not Super dash elbow, so that I can counter punch afterward. Couple nights ago I got thrown twice after my d-e and lost my ranking match. I dont know about any of you guys but when something I do doesnt come out Im not immediately on the defensive because I wasnt expeting to be. And Ill be the first to admit when someones better than me but If I feel that they arent better I wont accept it. I hate playing someone with endless strings cause of lag too, usually means I cant dodge against them, that sucks shit. I remember playing Glory one day and just Bitch slapped him around, he came right back and Bitch slapped me around and I was fine with that cause he 'IS' better than me.

for all of you who didnt know.....when you play online it will always be lag with you. its a fact.
in my case i start to hate the ranked matches online because of this pesky lag-> you cant tech-roll most of the time, your combos doesnt work, speed disadvantages etc..
but if your connection is ok you can ad my gamertag to play some non ranked matches ( i would like to train^^ )

Lag is always there but come on now. Lag isn't ALWAYS the reason
why you lose. Some people think that they'd be 10x better than their opponent in a lagless environment. I'll admit that things are
different but not THAT different on a good connection.

my reason for losing is the 360 controller. i mainly use dpad on ps3 but for 360 i had to teach my hands to play with the control stick.

Excuse I've heard when they lose:
    Lucky (when i rape em 3 0)
    Same move
    Lag (when there wasn't)
Lag (when there was, but still..)
    Beginners luck
    GG im just better

    Excuses i give:
Lucky (when they barely win with 1 inch health left and i know
they're bad, some of u guys must've gotten that feeling too)
    Lag (when there is some)
    GG they're just better
    I just woke up
Be happy i havent played in 2 or 3 days (and thats awhile when
you play tons of other games)
I wasn't trying (FYI- i dont try agaisnt very low lvls like
kyus, it's just a habit, i dont like trying agaisnt scrubs
that i know will take my moves- but starting today March 27, 08
im going all out and im ganna get my skill back-- i haven't
    been at my best lately)

FYI- that last one was an excuse too, but i swear on my gaming
life- i never lie with those excuses.

When i lose, the vast majority of the time it's because I got beat. Having said that, I've lost a few to lag+fast jab characters, which has the added effect of not even being fun because the match turns into this completely random-assed jab-fest.

I can understand lag being an issue, but I was talking about the kind of people who'll come in lagging, talk trash while they catch you with some nothing combo, then bitch about the same laggy conditions they were perfectly happy with only a match or two ago once you get the timing down and crush them. I meant the types where lag *only* exists when they're losing.

My favorite is after you beat someone and then get told to "learn some moves" or "learn how to play." I'm always like hmmm maybe you should give me a few tips next time. LOL

It really helps to give them tips just don't make it seem like you are insulting them. you may even find they get better and fight you harder the next time. I do this often personally, one thing I don't say is "you might want to learn how to block sometime" that seems insulting regardless of how kindly I put it out.

The "black" card, eh? I used to use that one when folks try to take me swimming.

Shadowmaster: Every once so often I ask if they're new at the game. Surprisingly, most of the folks I've every asked said they were. On the same note, there are some of those who just aren't going to get it.

    Also under excuses:
Ease or difficulty of character being played or played against (depends on user).
