i think it was wolf because he was the most improved, every one else in the tournament did not have good enough intentions, and wolf seemed the most ready for the challenge

and he seemed the most determened..

    what do you think??

(heh heh... mabye taka won and done a runner with the trophy!!)

The info I got about Vanessa was read straight from the mook to me by my Japanese friend who is also a VF player.

Even though I only read/speak a little Japanese, I know enough to translate the last sentance from the Vanessa story:

"Vanessa wa Bryant ka ni client tsuke, SeiKai KakuTou Tournament TaiKai e norikomu".

'Vanessa "attaches" the Bryant family as client, and "goes on board/marches into" the World Fighting Tournament meeting'.

there i knew it. sarah's 'looking lost' image really reflects the fact that she has been recaptured by J6. lau having a disease? serves him right. but he'd better not die b4 vf5 comes out. oh this is so stupid. will someone please translate the storyline quick.

The only other bit of story I know is that Lei Fei is sent by his master to beat Lau. The reason is to tell Lau he can't use Koen Ken anymore, since it's too dangerous. Lei Fei laughs and says he's gonna show Lau his "hybrid" Koen Ken/Shao Lin Ken... or something like that. I remember my friend said about Lei Fei "actually, he's not so gentle [in attitude]", meaning that although he's a monk, he isn't necessarily without a hot attitude.

OK. So we know for certain that Kage won. Lau is dying and Lei-Fei is after Lau. Does anyone actually have the source on hand so they can quote it on the board please as this would put everything to rest.

I don't know about that. Sarah doesn't sound or look evil anymore to me. Let me explain. In VF2 all her poses were arrogant (they still are to an extent in VF4) and had an meaner tone to them. When she would say that:

    "Even good guys blow it"

She would end it with the evil woman "FU FU FU" laugh. And who can forget the:

"Better run home to Moma now".

In VF4. To me she seems sassy, like in VF3 when we knew she was no longer under mind control. Her poses are just cool now with a touch of humor and wit. When she says:

"Maybe I should have held back a little"

She genuinely means it to herself not to taunt her opponent. When she says "Yahoo" she looks and sounds *Girly* instead of *Femme Fatal* for lack of a better word.

Her opening poses also give the impression of self control. She jokes with the opponent:

"So your my opponent?" "Won't you take it easy on me?" *Wink*

Why would an assasin ask for any quarter from they're *victim* J6 didn't train her to think or feel any sort of compassion for her opponents.

Infact the only time she does look serious is in her opening pose when she says:

    "Here I come."

But even then she seems in contemplation as she swings round to face the opponent in a dramatic way. As if she's psyching herself up. Whether she could win or not would never be something that crossed her mind if she was still under control. She would have had strict programming and would carry them out regardless.

Sarah was brainwashed, probably pumped full of drugs and put through test after test by J6 scientists. She didn't volunteer so there is no way she would have any sort of humor for her job. She would have been a shallow puppet (the fu fu fu laugh from VF2).

And with regards to her two player picture. She's just really good looking. What more can I say?

Ha ha ha, that's some in depth analysis there Adio; I doubt even AM2 thought that deeply!

LOL! ..."FU FU FU", haha..I can't recall ever hearing a laugh like that /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif..reminds me of one of my friends who swears Kazuya (Tekken) yells RIP! when he does certain moves /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

She sounded cooler in VF2 IMO, I thought her VF3 laugh was a bit bubbly...sounded like a bit of an airhead.

what's her VF4 voice like?, any accent?

Not trying to sound ignorant here. She has a regular american accent. She sounds witty and sassy with a Flirtatious attitude. No southern overtones or anything like that.

question - does vf4 have endings?

Not As Far as I know, I doubt it. I got to Dural but lost to her. You get the credits with your character in his/her VF1 polygon look repeating your final rounds of matches. It's cool to watch if you had good finishers as it looks like some sort of hologram with the picture flickering from time to time. If you're good enough you will also get a chance for name entry (I was 5th. Look out for an A.S. if you go to the casino lol)

As long as Sarah does not have a irritating nasal vocals in VF3 I'm content.
She did seem arrogant and emotionless in VF2, but I did like the way she did 'Better run home to Mama now!' and 'Even good guys blow it.... ohhohohohohahahaha', compared to VF3's poor attempt at reinventing her image and her less than savoury laugh then. Does she still have her 'Imagine losing to this bozo' losing taunt? Do character still have losing taunts? Are they available only in Time Over a la VF3 or whenever you lose a la VF2?

And thank goodness they made her look real good in VF4. In 3 she was too beefy and her hair was horrid. Now she looks slimmer with soft collapsing bangs. Not too bad really, in fact it is pretty good?

But what's with the catsuit? Did she get captured by J6 already before the 4th World Tourny? Doesn't matter anyway, I like her in the catsuit better /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

Oh, and something to all Sarah fans.
Sega's real intention in her 'Even good guys blow it .. ohoho...' taunt was not about good guys mucking up their attempt against Sarah. She is supposed to express how she will defeat all men, irregardless of who they are. This is actually directed towards Jacky. OK, so I got this from the manga but they offered this info in it.

And the fu fu fu laugh...

In VF1 options, all laughs and some voices are characterised as 'fu' . Pai's laugh [still the best laugh imo] was fu fu ha ha while Wolf's attacks may be punctuated with 'fu' or 'fuuu'. Something like that. So 'fu fu fu fu' would refer to noises of the same sort.

Well. [I'd] better run home to mama now...

Re: who DID win vf3?? according to the Red Book

I think the Catsuit is a return to her VF2 roots. That combined with the new and improved Collosium, which for me is by far the best stage is really nostalgic for Sarah fans. I'll agree with you on Sarah's look in VF3. her head was far to round and her fore head was vary large. But I thought her figure was fine.

VF4 has really boosted the character looks. Everyone now has real features to their faces. You just can't draw a face and give it the right colour eyes or hair. Everyone looks like a proper person. Lion is a perfect example, His large nose screams of noble heritage while Lau and Shun look like they've been around. And Kage's scar really enhances his features too.

As I said before, Sarah is very witty now. For her "Even good guys blow it" she does the gun shot pose (the camera is at an angle so she looks she aiming at someone behind you) and then blows on her finger slightly. It's very slick. In all her poses you can tell she's being cocky like jacky but, in a flirtatious manner.

Her loosing pose is "This is not the last you've heard of me!...". She turns away and sulks while standing like Jacky, arms crossed looking down, tapping her foot and looking bitter.

To be honest, I don't miss the "Moma" win pose. It was pretty tacky imo. What I would like are character specific taunt like KOF that you could select with G+P+K. Everyone in VF has some grudge or connection with someone else. The game may not have endings (still the home port could change that) but the opening, winner and loose poses have given the characters loads of personality. Even ring outs help to paint the picture of the fighters. Jacky is cocky, Pai is energetic, Lion is a show man and Wolf is over confident. These characteristics come across perfectly in the game.

Something I need to get off my chest. What colour are Sarah's eyes now? AM2 have done such a brilliant job with the graphics that it's hard to tell. They look sort of sky blue with grey+green tints.
