1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

It seems virtua fighter 3tb is seeing a small revival happen.

Does anyone have any insight into why? Not dissing the game, just curious as to why.

IIRC (and I probably don't) it had guard and evade cancels, the combos weren't as crazy as 4, so maybe it's the most old school while being more refined, but it still has unique interesting stuff?

Is it actually a revival, or we're just able to watch more of the footage thanks to streams and YouTube?

It seems its a revival as there's been multiple tournaments held for it recently, only been happening the last few months

Unless you've seen some other stuff, most of the newer vids are coming out of an arcade in Takadanobaba area of Tokyo, where they have a bunch of retro games and throw random tourneys for many games weekly.

Not sure if you can necessarily call that a revival though.

This was the first game in the series I ever played, it really interested me but I never understood how to play it properly at the time. Don't you think the dodge button actually made the movement system accessible to new players while still having advanced movement in there? I would've liked them to keep that dodge button. VF4's movement was amazing but really difficult while VF5FS's movement always seemed limited and boring.

I like retro. I felt that Virtua Fighter 3 was the most innovative. The 1990s of fighting games kind of accomplished a good experience for me in that aspect.

It's nice to see Virtua Fighter 3tb getting the attention it deserves, I honestly think it is the second most innovative Virtua Fighter game, the first one of course being original Model 1 Version of VF1.
