I had a quick look at some of the threads on that site. Too many to wade through them all. Most of them were more about gameplay, characters or just joking around.

A few of the negative ones I saw were...

VF player numbers down so far that some people estimated less than 100 players per prefecture.

Akira is broken.


And one troll thread which said "At any arcade, you put in 100 yen to play CPU, and for sure, some high rank guy challenges you and kills you in seconds. Feels like playing a claw game and not getting anything everytime. How does Sega expect to get new players like this?!"

I'll ask nazo to comment again in Japanese and see if we can get a more accurate translation.

If you want detailed reasons on why so few players in Japan play FS and why FS stands for Fuck Sega, look me up. After the next Bay tournament, look for the game to completely die out.

This makes me think that VF6 will be Sega's last chance. I didn't know that Japan dislikes this game this much. If this is true, at least there is enough respect for VF that if VF6 is widely praised it should be back on top again.

I wonder if asked what Yu Suzuki would bring to the game again. Part of me thinks he would figure out a way to bring back some basic aspects yet still new, fun, and refreshing.
