Why does every Lau....

...have a bunch of shit flyin out his head? I must be the only Lau online without a bunch of goofy headgear, my man means BUSINESS. Anyone else?

Lau is only boring if you play him in a boring fashion. Lau can be stylish and beastly; unfortunately, no one in NA really plays him that way (maybe DissMaster; I've yet to play him)..

Lau, to me, seems like the only character that's stuck in the 90's. My brother tried his darnest to use him in a stylish way and completely gave up on him.

He just seems like a very deliberate chracter. I found one guy who used most of his move list effectively and even that seemed annoying. I say they should kill him off and give us Taka back.

So much hate on Lau. I use to though, so I can't talk too much. Not even gona bother with this, only those who already agree that he's fun and can be stylish, agree, those who think he's boring continue to.

WTF? Taka is way worse than Lau ever was. Think how Sumo works, and then think about why they never brought him back.

Shiz (Tim) has a ton of high level vids from JPN, showing various Laus dominating people and looking real pretty doing so. It's seriously a sweet youtube Lau collection. Maybe he'll post up a couple of the especially dirty ones..

 

When I first picked up VF5 Lau, I thought he turned into a bore fest from FT (Lau was my main). The more I play him though, the more I appreciate the character. Now I just love to play as him.

Please put up those youtube vids if possible.

Koen-Ken is too serious for youtube. Lau charges for that shit.

 

My Lau has some badass peacock feathers flying out of his head because he is a badass peacock prancing around floating with a quickness perpetrators who step to him and try to knock him off his peacock throne.

Just kidding. My lau is green and I think pretty hilarious looking, but I try to use different outfits.

I love to play Lau and I don't find him boring, but I see why some people may think he is. He can be played in a very straight forward and predictable way. I can fall into that when I am not at my best. But of course p, 2p, and 6p are pretty powerful...

 

I definitely disagree with the belief that Lau is boring. His aggressive play and quick strikes bring a great sense of intensity and ferocious that only so many characters in VF have.

 

lau is only boring when the player limits his movelists and doesn't take chances... when i actually played with lau (he used to be my main til jeffry called out) i would try a few risky things, and some setups for a ch /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif... i learned this combo watching honolulu play awhile back:

For me Lau has always been boring because of those repetitive strikes, and half of his movelist and combos seem just a variation of PPP.... I also feel that he lacks 'special' type of moves like sabakis and evasive property moves, although he has been gaining steadily on those. Im not saying that hes bad, Im just saying he isnt my type. Maybe the look of his techniques jsut rub me the wrong way. He is like the only character in VF I don't like to play with.

 

Lau has nothing special he's pretty much about basics, if you use the basics effectively lau is very rewarding. He has just one sabaki move and not many evasive atks. So you have to G, side step and atk precisely with him.
