... The characters Lion, El Blaze and Brad, speak fluent English, when they are from France, Mexico and Italy, respectively?
I mean, surely, if they've had Japanese and Chinese speaking parts, they could have gotten someone French, or Mexican, or Italian, to do those characters parts? At least give them an accent to represent what country they are from :p
And who knows, if they spoke French, Or Mexican, Perhaps it would make th characters' voices much less annoying (particularly in the case of Lion and El Blaze. Brad's okay though :p)

You should relay that question to those people interviewing the Sega/AM2 bigshots. Maybe something interesting will come out. I don't like Lions voice either. Blaze is passable, Brad is even good. "Introducing... the BRAAAAD show!" I don't take him for an Italian for one second though.

They should get Jack Black to voice Blaze..

    HAHA he so should :p
Yeah, I'm not too fussed about Brads, but Lions and El Blazes annoys me something chronic :p
    "Hot Dog!"
    I mean, really, wtf!
and Lion needs his VF2 voice back!
and if not, at least make him seak French!
I reckon that' be pretty darn awesome

If he starts speaking French they should give him this quote: "Je suis pédé!!"

I really love the Virtua Fighter universe where all Asian people speak fluent Japanese, and people from anywhere else in the world speak Engrish. I hope that never changes.

Lion is filthy rich. El Blaze is or wants to be an international wrestling star and Brad is meant to be one of the top Muay Thai fighters in the world and a bit of a playboy(understatement). It's not hard to believe that any of them speak English.

Characters who aren't Asian speak English. Those who are speak Japanese.

Sega just doesn't have the budget, I guess.

Dapheenom has a valid question, I know your new to the site but "omfg.. are u serious.." stfu son. If you feel people talking about vf is not right in this site then this place is not for you, you got that?
An EXCELLENT question, I've always been wondering this too actually ever since I first heard them, I assume the characters were born and raised up in their native country then learned English late thus their English, or Sega was in the verge of bankruptcy so they grabbed some bums off the street and offered a happy meal from Mcdicks for voice. Either way there's not that much story in the game so thank god there ain't cut scenes with the goofy English otherwise it might have been ridiculous! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Obvious answer: Because their lines were written by japanese people who are terrible at english.

And since when has ANY game been known for good voice acting??? VF's is at least funny enough to be memorable.

Please don't tell me you were serious with that or did you forget to add "and since when has any FIGHTING game been known for good voice acting???" because we all know if u were talking about general games then I could say, ahem: FALLOUT, GTA, GEARS OF WAR, MGS, EEECCCTTT!

The lines generally speaking aren't too bad. They are SPOKEN terribly. And no one is talking about being known for good voice acting. The question is why is it SO shitty?

    But you already knew that.

I like how you don't mention Fallout or GTA /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif anywho Gears of War and MGS do have good voice acting, especially snake from MGS, can anyone vouch on that? Besides that I think I've proven my point that there are good voice acting in games, saying Fallout doesn't have good voice acting makes me assume your deaf, in that case you shouldn't be talking in the first place so as Jeffry would say, I WIIIIIIIIIN.
