Virtua Fighter is known to be one of the most rewarding fighting games for players who take the time to learn the system. Meaning: Although it's technically possible, it is VERY rare that a buton masher can defeat a seasoned veteran.

So, I have a hypothetical situation for the VF players out there. Let's say that the competition involves you playing a player who has never played VF before. Let's also say that this player is an above average player in all the other fighting games... basically not a fighting game noob.

The rules of the competion are that you have to play this person three rounds and get a PERFECT on at least one of the rounds.

If you win, then you get ten million dollars. If you lose, you are put to death by beheading the next morning.

The person that has never played VF before is required to pick Akira.

What's your answer? Mine is no actually. If it was just winning 2 out of 3, I would take that offer in a heartbeat!! A perfect though... I dont know

Seems like you are good at VF 3 then! I dont know man----a perfect is a perfect---while u can be 100% certain that you'll win---those perfects can be taken away very easily.

It's been said that if a 100 million monkeys bang on a 100 million type-writers for infinity--one of them will (for a 100% certainty) produce Shakespear's Hamlet!!

I would certainly do it if the requirement was winning 2/3 rounds. That's about as close to a sure thing as you can get. But scoring a perfect? Realistically, I could probably pull it off at least 90% of the time if the person playing was a complete beginner. I've certainly intentionally done it against beginners before. The problem is, beginner's are especially difficult to predict, since they know nothing about how the game is supposed to be played. And in general in terms of strategy in VF, it rarely makes sense to go for perfection, but rather to take calculated risks. Shooting for perfection against a noob would require finding a cheap way to exploit them (i. e. 2p2p2p2p2p2p...) that they couldn't figure out how to do anything against before they lost the round. So at this point you are not so much betting on your own skill as your opponent's incompetence. I really don't think that's a smart bet when your life is at stake. Even if there are a lot of things you can usually rely on someone not being able to figure out in one round, there is always the chance they could get lucky and hit something that works by button mashing.
