Would you want a fighting game with PS Moves or Kinect?

I can not stop thinking about how awesome fighting virtually with people online using PS Moves or Kinect in a game will be. What do you think about this? What exactly will you expect a game like this should have? Character progression? Character customization? Blood? Special Powers? Tell me what it brings to your mind, because I want to learn whether our motivations in fighting games are common or not.

No way, doubt this could ever be implemented correctly without it becoming a waggle fest

Although if Sony pushed sega to include six axis support for vf, it could be used for escaping staggers. So instead of pad players having to wiggle the dpad they could just shake the controller

This reminds me of the Virtua Fighter Eyetoy game on the PS2 Sega Superstars. The computer always beat me no matter how hard I tried to use the proper technique. Then I saw a YouTube video of a kid flailing all around and winning every round...I felt kinda dumb.

    No it wouldn't be fun...

  9. Personally I probably wouldn't use it, unless it was properly implemented. Furthermore I prefer a conventional controller device. I think available technology in regard to this should be of a much higher level than what there is available now.

A friend once mentioned he would like the games industry to develop so far as that you could simply go into battle and shoot arrows and even sense the tightness of the bow, and even sense the power of a sword against a sword, and even sense the recoil of a firearm, as you fight in battle, even large historical or made up battles.
It sounds like a nice idea, but if they release such a thing (if even possible), they better do it right and make it fun. To keep the conventional method of control is still desirable even if they could pull it off properly, simply for those who prefer the conventional control method.

they already have a kinect fighting game called "Fighters Uncaged". Having played it, I think it favors the player with the better physical condition as it makes it even less of an abstract endeavor.

If this is what you want perhaps consider attending a real martial arts class.

Ryan Heart already does this in VF, works great.

Heh....kudos on the martial arts classes comment....exactly what I was thinking.

Besides...you'd be asking couch potatoe gamers to ACTUALLY get in some exerting physical excercises!

    Think about that.
I'd say 80% of "badasses" on say, Virtua Fighter, would be completely winded after 10 minutes of some cardio or calisthenics.

Though there may be a handful that could deal with it, even if properly implemented (whatever the hell THAT means... LOL) you'd be hard pressed to get most lazy gamers off their badass couches to work up a sweat.

For Virtua Fighter it would be kind of hard to pull of monkey twist and monkey split and monkey hop. For other fighting games I'd probably end up hitting myself in the face or accidentally smacking someone nearby. Plus I already sweat enough when Im really into Vf and no one likes to sweat :(

A fighting game with kinect controls you say?

Sounds like a slowly progressing disaster if you ask me <.<

    This.

Neither PS Move or Kinect offer enough actual control to allow anyone to develop a fighting game worth caring about.

If you want to do jazz hands and star jumps while some disconnected avatar goes through the motions on screen, cool.
