X-Box version of VF???

A friend of mine at Tecmo US said she has been hearing some stuff about an X-Box version of VF coming out late this year or early next year. Has anyone heard anything about this. She didn't believe it was VF4E, so my curiosity is very piqued. Although, if it was VF4E my curiosity would still be piqued. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

It's kinda ironic that it's coming from someone who works at Tecmo.

I believe it's VF Quest (not Evo) your friend is talking about. There are talks of this RPG game involving VF characters for cross-platform (not just xbox) release later this year.

Think I read this in one of those xbox game magz.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Having VF on multiple platforms would be the shit..imagine a better than arcade conversion.....

 

There are rumours going around that the next Tekken game will be on X-Box.
Or basically it will be multi-platform crap.

Tekken and Virtua Fighter do not sound phonetically similar.

 

Um guess I was a bit tricked when you said

so I just pointed out that it MAYBE could have been the next Tekken game that she was talking about.
Since ovbiously she didn't pay much attention when she told you about this.

Quit trying to read into something that is stated fairly clearly. You don't talk about VF if you mean Tekken.

 

What about VF Quest for Gamecube, maybe she was confused? I'm sure Sega wants a slice of that 300,000 strong Xbox market in Japan eh?

Mind you I'm not a fanboy I just think its strange considering the cout de tat that just scored with Evolution coming out on PS2. Maybe its the dying gasp of what was once a great videogame company. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

 

Whether she was "confused" or not, I am not privy to. I was just asking based upon what she told me. She works at Tecmo, so she has nothing at stake here to lie about in my opinion. If she told me that she overheard people talking about a VF game for X-Box, then I am inclined to believe her. We have worked together before and she isn't one to lie.

Also, about the 300k X-Box market. That may be true for now, but you give it a game like VF and I guarantee those Japanese numbers will rise.

You underestimate the mind of a fighting game otaku.

 

Dude, VF may be the biggest fighting game in Japan, but it doesn't have the movement power of a Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, or even a Shin Sangoku Musou. (Ah hell, they released one of those for the XB and it still didn't do jack.) The biggest sales spike yet for the XBox was the release of DoAXB (the pictures of the game's first day of release in Tokyo are absolutely crazy).

Lemme put it this way: If freakin' ZELDA can't move a lot of GCs in Japan, VF more than likely ain't gonna be moving a whole load of XBoxes.

The system sure does deserve to do better here, though, and Microsoft really IS trying.

Zelda can't be argued because they alered the formula for the look and feel so many gamers were put off from that. The same in how many people refused to purchase Metroid when it went FPS.

 

Urm how about Mario then?
That sold well below expectations as well.
