xbox 360 launch

Anyone go? i went to a few walmarts at midnight. There was a drawing for some. I think each walmart had 6 systems and there was some fight over one system because the guy was 3 dollars short and the other guy said to hand it over because he was short on cash. It was funny.

 

well I got a premium bungle at best buy. But that doesn't count for the other premium bundle that I pre-order and pre-paid for at gamestop many many months ago which i found out a day before release that i wasn't going to get. top it all off since I lucked out and had to go to best buy and stand on line for hours to get that bungle it cost me to be 1 and 1/2 hour late for work which I got snitched on by some of my co-workers which got me a verbal warning and written up. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif *SIGH* non gamers will never understand what it's like to buy these type of things. I knew I should have called in sick, but noooooooo I felt guilty. I figured I would just be late and that's that. DAMN SNITCHERS... BUT HEY I GOT MY 360 AND GOT MY REFUND BACK FROM GAMESTOP... BOOOOYAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

Hey Rodney, same BS with me. Preordered mine months ago, also at Gamestop, and also with a sizable deposit. Stopped by today to pick up my system and...rejected. Nothing for me.

wow, that sucks for you guys, sorry to hear it.

I also got a bundle deal, but I didn't order until August 24th, and they didn't charge my bank account until last Friday (no deposit). Showed up yesterday on time at my house /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif I used ebgames though.

to be honest, between caring for the baby and a short hour of Dragon Quest 8 late last night, I haven't even had time to take the thing out of the box! I like how it's wrapped in the plastic that says "welcome". Dude, that box weighs a TON, my scale says 15 pounds.

yeah, it sucks about the DOA4 delay, I think it's gonna slip until 06 myself (about 1/3rd of the characters have yet to be seen in playable form). But I've heard PDZ and Call of Duty are pretty good if you like fps, and I really wanna pop PRG3 in.

I agree with Bryan about that baby(Xbox360) weighing a ton. When I was handed the bag and tried to lift it off the counter I thought I was going to dislocate my arm.

I grabbed PGR3 and PDZ. I am not into fps at all I only got it because it was 4 player split screen. I hope fps's grow on me or else I think I just wasted some money. As for PGR3 after playing it for about 1/2 hour on LIVE I have mixed feelings about it. I think visually it looks great for running just at 30fps, but sometimes the load time for a race is just ridiculous. I will throw it up in the air as it was just rush and didn't have the proper time to get optimize. Let me play it some more before I make my final call.

As for DOA4, please Itagaki take as much time as you need to take as much broken shit out as possible. I am keeping my fingers crossed on a better throw escape system although I know it won't happen. But it doesn't hurt to have a little faith right?

Anyone know if hori is releasing an arcade stick for 360. I would put anything on it that one shows up for the Japanese launch to compliment DOA4. If anyone hears anything about it can you please post it here or PM me. Konjou playing a fighter without a stick = FREE WINS for his opponent. No matter how much I try, I just can not use a controller for fighting games.

that stick WAS up @ Hori's site as late as last week, even the English site. Now I can't find it anywhere, not even on their Japanese page... looks like more signs that point towards delay of the game.

I still haven't gotten a chance to try out my 360 yet. Rodney, does ALL of PGR run @ 30fps, or just online?

DOA4 is definitely delayed. And PGR is 30fps always.

I see you on xbox360's dash board..lol.. Too bad we cant atleast play doaU on 360. Im also waiting for Doa4, and I didnt buy any game because of it. oh, command throw escapes may be in, From the footage and from the preview builds, we cant realy tell how it was implimented...Cause one of Ayane command throws was escaped.

 

yea I am on the dash a lot trying to figure out how to navigate throw all the different menus. Like Srider said PGR3 is 30fps always.

I tried downloading the Kameo demo from marketplace, but the damn thing keeps freezing up at like 50-52%. Anyone have this happen? I have tried about 10 ten times, I'm not kidding, and everytime it's failed.

Can someone drop the link to Hori's website in here so I can book mark it? That stick looks so sweeeeeeeeet! Without that it looks like I will be playing DOA4 offline until I get one.

gotta say, I'm pretty blown away by PGR, have you tried the free camera mode yet, it's insane, I was moving all around Canal Street, on the Brooklyn Bridge taking photos. I can't believe these graphics are coming out real-time on my TV. It defiantely doesn't look like a 30 fps to me. I also love all the Live integration, like how it's telling you other people just got a certain rank etc while you're navigating menus.
