Did you watch the entire thing? And if you did, what games did they feature *cough*advertise*endcough* for the X-box?

I am willing to bet Halo was in it, but maybe I am wrong......I doubt they would show DOA or DOA Volleyball, lol ..."now you see the X-box rendering the breast boucing physics, in real time /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif..."

It was centered around MS US game activities so no Japanese stuff.
Yeah Halo2 was there but they also showed how things went sour whit Crimson Skies and stuff.

You would expect that if they wanted to show the good successes of the X-box, they would most definately not want to focus on the X-box in Japan *shudders*.

I am also expecting that they discussed X-boxes hardware, especially the hardrive and being able to create your own soundtracks. And they must have talked about X-box live, there is now way that MS would let them omit that.

I'm still impressed that the X-Box has even sold in Japan at all. The problem is that MS hasn't gotten a heavy hitter like the Final Fantasy series or porno Mahjong games on it's system over there yet. Once they get a good RPG, Dragon Ball Z/GT, or exclusive fighter it will do much better. Still a long shot for a US system to do well in Japan.

That's not the real problem though, it's that most people (who play videogames) in Japan, already own either a Gamecube, PS2, or both.

Now you factor in that MS has no good exclusive titles that the Japanese consumers desire, and voila, the big X suX in Japan.

Final Fantasy will pretty much be with Sony as far as the main games are concerned, still though Nintendo scores the Crytsal Chronicle games. The Metal Gear series has gone to all three consoles, so obviously no one is going to buy an X-box for it. Soul Calibur II is out, but most of the Japanese are buying the Gamecube version (for Link mainly).

If X-box had been released before, or even alongside the PS2 it might have done decent, but the PS2 came out much sooner that both its competitiors, and pretty much dominated until this day.

MS refuses to admit that they lost the console war (so does Nintendo), so it is no surprise that they are still pushing X-box anywhere they can.
