XFD Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3 is so sad

Like, it looks nice, and it's a cool concept with just fighting styles and no supernatural stuff like SFIV.

But the system must be horribly broken or the entire veteran community is filled with bads.
Why do I say this?

Well I just picked it up the other day for $10 and got online.
Picked one of the girl characters that uses jui-jutsu I think, jumped into the intermediate lobby and started raping kids.
Fast forward a bit and I'm 63 W 0 L wondering what the fuck is going on.

I jump into the "veteran/advanced" lobby and I start getting auto-matched with people who have shit like 1100 W 1300 L and have been playing for years apparently (badly).

Well I start beating them too.
Just using the same fucking girl that I picked way back, learning her combos.

I just got done playing, final tally of 93 W 8 L for one session.
3 of those losses came from my cousin covering for me after I got bored and wanted to smoke a bowl.
4 of them was me getting killed by some +1k Wins people.
The ???? loss was sold for profit.


Keep in mind that I'm not saying that I'm hot shit, who gives a crap about VF5? Point being is how sad is the community if they've been veterans for years, playing literally thousands of matches, and they can get fucking stomped by a fight player used to Third Strike/MvC2 who bought it on a whim?

I guess that speaks to the quality of Capcom titles versus......who makes Virtua Fighter again?

I do remember playing shit like VF1-2 in the arcades as a kid though, that was awesome, 3d graphics were brand new back then.

Ya it does, I was joining lobbies, people with different names/emblems etc

But yeah, I'm sure there's some good players on there, I was just expecting to get stomped since usually when a newbie joins an old established fighting game you get whooped.
Not with this game it seems.

I dunno what to say, maybe it got patched in? I remember downloading an update.

All I can tell you is I played online, and I have no reason to make a topic about VF5 0_o

I don't know what to tell you, screenshot? It's like, if you're going to devote that much time to one game, I would hope that you've got something to "show" for it (xd).

But do you guys remember playing the old ones back in the arcade days?
85'ers represent.

 

Try something for me: don't connect your PS3 to internet, then play to that "online" mode again... You will see something magic.

 

Guys, it's true. There's a downloadable patch that allows you to play VF5 for the PS3 online.
Just make sure that you're signed into PSN when you start the game. It's ok but the online for 360 version is better.

Its a shame that I sold my copy of VF5 on PS3 a long time ago but I think I will stick with 360 since most of the people I love playing VF5 with the most play on 360. If there are people here that are willing to play me on PS3 tell me so and I might consider finding a copy of VF5 on PS3 again. For now its 360 or bust as far as I am concerned right now.

I am curious to know how good the people are that only play VF5 of PS3 to see how good they are though.
