I've deleted the (same) thread in Junky's Jungle.

In future, it would be appreciated if you didn't start a thread simply as a place-holder for potential discussion. Especially if it's only directed towards a handful of people.

    Stove!

    How are you

Just to explain Stove is one of the UK crew who has just landed in Tokyo and actually is touch with the likes of Chibita, Kyasao, Kurita etc.

He recently beat Mukky Akira in a tense match and was invited to dinner by Kurita and Chibita. It was a good story but I'll let Yamato re-tell it.

By the way what does Yamato mean? (Pathetic Gajin that I am)

    Cheers

Ok I'm too lazy to write it all out again so just copy and paste that section of my e-mail assuming that you still have it.

Today I was at West Sportsland, nobody goes to the East one anymore even on Fridays.

Segaru had moved back up to Meishou and him ,Neo Tower who uses Brad now,Mukky ,and someone I don't know called Wadei using Jacky played for about an hour trying to rank up. Eventually Wadei ranked up much to my surprise Sending all 3 Mukky ,Neo,Segaru back down to Ousha(King) then Chibita on the next machine lost on purpose to challenge Wadei

Chibita was nearly Demoted several times so was Wadei eventually they called it quits after 20 or so games

Skeleton was there today but he didn't play
Heruru was banging up bare heads with Lei-Fei

There were 3 woman players who were Tsuwamono
Win 5 in a row against 10th Dan I think

1st Angel (Akira)-Personally I don't rate her that highly, she can't do any technical stuff but I have personally seen her move up and down....by the end of the night she was down to 9th Dan

An Aoi player-very suspest IMO she just wasn't a strong player

A Pai player - She was really savage, props to her, very fast etc.

Tomorrow I intend to enter the tournament in West Sportsland to try and qualify for the Finals of Heroism
See sega site if you don't know what it is!

Then Sunday I'm gonna search for Gerira in Asagaya

Oh and Yamato is an old name for Japan(Nihon)

Hi Steve I was wondering if you could steal Chibita's vf.net card I want to frame it in my livingroom? Since Pai has been upgraded has Akuma Pai gotten even more harder to beat and how is Segal Wolf's pai doing? one more thing if it's not to much trouble could you post a Friday night Kanispo dairy if you have the time. thx

I haven't seen Akuma Pai play Evolution so I couldn't tell you.......

I think the best Pai is Hakushon Lau

Segaru's wolf is much better than his Pai despite the toning up of Pai

Segaru is really good with Wolf he has some good set-ups after [6][K](chit)[4][K]+[G][K]

If you tech-roll I think u can do Low Back Throw
otherwise he does [1][P]in the back then a Throw
he also uses the charge up move[P]+[K]??

    and the usual Okizeme[3][P]+[K]/[1_][K]/[6][3][2][1][4][P][P]

I'M SORRY TO TELL YOU THIS BUT NOBODY GOES TO KANISPO ANYMORE SO MY REPORTING IS ALL FROM WEST SPORTSLAND

    Jeff,

Actually Yamato's right, no one goes to KaniSpo, not even on friday. When I was in Tokyo in August, I called GP and was like "yeah friday night, man. EVERYONE will be at kanispo, we have to go there!" So I showed up around 6:30 and ot was dead, although PK Akira was there (playing Pai), and Masked Hijitetsu was hanging around watching. They shortly left, and only a few people were playing, like 8 people of mid-rank (5th dans were the highest).

I ended up going to another spot on the East side where there were a lot of people last year, and while it was more crowded than Kanispo, there were still basically only mid-level people, a few 7th dans. That's where I ran into GP. As it was getting late, we decided to gamble on finding the crowd at Nishispo (where the test had been).

We walked over, went to the basement, and WHOA! About 70 people I'd say, a TV crew and PK Akira, Masked Hijitetsu, Mukki, Magnum Jeffry, Kurita, Chibita, 1st Angel, Segaru, Goro2000, etc. PACKED! Even more so than Kanispo had been the year before, with about 10 vs. City set-ups.

I think trends change a lot in Tokyo, so I think the trend has shifted to Nishispo for the moment.

yeah, yeah, yeah I hear ya...

    BUT WHAT ABOUT KAGE!!

    Skelton didn't play! FILTH

What's Edo saying, and what about Kyasao? Say hi to Jin for me, has he gone beyond 10th dan yet?

Does not seem like Segaru is complaining about Wolf 'tone-downs'. Like I've always said, if you know your charater well enough you can be strong, and he probab;y know Wolf better than anyone...

Oh, with regards to Mukky and Ryan. I remeber in January when Ryan challenged Mukky a couple of times in Shibuya HiTech. Ryan was using his VF.net ('sensenKage' or something). Although matches were close Ryan lost. Ryan than challenged Mukky without his VF.net card and beat him 3 - 0. He basically said "I can;t beat him with VF.net because he knows it's me, it's kind of a mind thing. But without vf.net I find it easier, perhaps less 'vf.net' type pressure, perhaps it's because Mukky doesn't know it's me, or see stuff like rankings, win precentage etc" Kinda makes sense when you think about it. I def had better matches when I played without my vf.net, or perhaps that's in my mind...

    cheers

p.s. hurry up with the green book, and STAY AWAY from the school girls ! it will end in tears, probably theirs /versus/images/icons/wink.gif

Huh, that's too bad I guess. When I last went a few months ago Kanispo was still crowded on Friday night with all the top players: Chibita, Heruru, PK Akira, Mukky, Ed, Hakushon, Aopai, Skeleton, etc.

Of course, outside of Friday night Kanispo was pretty dead compared to Nishispo and High-Tech Shibuya. I think it's because Nishispo is closer to the train station, and the West exit is a newer, younger area than the East exit.

Ok Mo Jin was 2 above 10th Dan Mosa with KAGE
Him and Edo are the best Kages I have seen.

Edo keeps it simple but is very efective
Jin is more of a stylish player

I have been to Shibuya High-Tech twice but I haven't seen Kyasao

I sent you a MAIL regarding your green book

I'm gonna start a Kage card so maybe I'll be able to post some better stuff for you soon.

When is Ryan intending to come to Japan?

    CARD UPDATE

    AOI -5th Dan
    AKIRA-4th Dan
    GOH-2nd Dan

    SCHOOLGIRLS!! Mo you're sick :p but I wouldn't mind trying it :p

Yo don't forget to "BORROW" Chibita's vf.net card, i'm going to sell it on ebay and i'll split the profit 50/50 with you /versus/images/icons/smile.gif . Anyway on to more serious stuff like Iron Elbow's brad what rank is he and stuff like that?

  17. Neo

    Neo Well-Known Member

I haven't seen him play unless he has changed his name to Neo Brad or Masked Brad. If that was him then he was 3 above 10th Dan (Ousha)/King

Gonna go to the Arcades now /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Cut and paste of email from Yamato regarding Kage in Evo:

Sorry for the confusing Kage Infomation.

What I meant was Kage's main stuff now if

    1/d/f+p

2/k+g,p,p Okay this hits mid, high, mid and it acts like
Jacky's f+p,p in Ver C if you try to do a d+p straight
away you get hit by the 2nd hit....from there it is a
mix-up between the last part and Throw basically, you
can also mix it up and do d/f+p or Crouch Dash D/F+p
etc Now if the last part hits then they get staggered
badly you get a free d p+k,k I think but If they block
you eat an Elbow kick etc.

3/BTurned u/b+k with Throw The flip move gives frame
Advantage if they block it they have to attack to stop
your Throw so you can do elbow/Throw mixup If they try
to SS the flip then use BT p+g the Frankensteiner type
move and make them look really silly. this is quite
good for Okizeme after d p+k,k combo

4/Jumonji basically the same but as I said k+g,p,p
combos after the crumple and if they tech-roll then
    you can do d/f+k back-stagger f k+g etc.

5/The new jump/flip move as they get up makes their
kick come out backwards after wards you can press G to
turn around and choose whatever or you have the
BTurned Throw or u/b+k or d+k a lot of options

Ok anyways I got the book now so I'll post it tomorrow
and then I can tell you the price on Thursday night

    cheers!

    Steven

Stove gimme a run-down of the green book dvd, any decent Kage matches?

Also what do you think of Brad and Goh, any good famaous players using them? Kurita always seem to pick a new character and be strong (Taka, Van etc)

    cheers
