Some of the funny bugs I have seen.

In lau stage after a knock down move near the short wall, the body suddenly
slip through the ground and appear outside the ring RO. Against human
player.

In shun stage, Sarah flipkick CPU shun in the middle of the ring, shun
falls but Sarah is suddenly push all the way back until RO. Sarah appears
to be in a hit stun motion.

In kage stage, Wolf does the giant swing with his back very near the edge.
The CPU kage is RO by the first turn of the giant swing when his body is
half way out of the ring.
Kage drop out of the ring, while Wolf is still turning around but without
hold on to anything. Very comical.

In lau stage, Kage TFT lau over the short wall, but the replay shows lau
TFT the other lau.

Taka vs. Taka match. When I did a d/f+p+k move ( not sure which move my
opponent did, but I'm sure it a down attack ) my Taka is suddenly turned
around, but the animation is very smooth. Very surprising. Did twice.

Just What Revision Do I Have Anyway?

"Play nice. Don't steal. Ask before you use for profit."

>From the Original to Revision A

1. Fixed: Certain characters' rising kick hanging the game.
2. Fixed: Kage's face distortion in his winning pose.
3. Fixed: Castle stage Ring Out no longer infinite like the Construction
           stage.
4. Fixed: Screen scrolling weirdness when a new opponent challenges.
5. Fixed: Unable to exit Test Mode.
6. Fixed: Scrolling off the screen during name entry.
7. Fixed: Test Mode screwing up the endings.

Rev A to Rev C

1. Country - Asia in the Game Assignment added for the Korean market.
The announcer and characters do not speak Japanese in this mode.

2. To counter unscrupulous arcades, the lower limit of the life bar
is set to 160 for the CPU and 180 for competetion.

3. Fixed: If you moved the joystick a lot when starting a new game during
the advertize mode, sometimes you can move the character select
screen and screw up the colour and texture map.

4. Fixed: Starting the game during the portion of the advertize mode
showing ring outs will sometime cause weird scrolling
           problems.

5. Difficulty lowered for Hard and Hardest settings.
6. Move cancels now adds 2 frames to the rigour time.
7. Button barrage during the down portion of a sacrifice move will no
longer result in a rising kick.
8. Ranking screen duration changed from 10 seconds to 4 seconds.
Game Over screen changed from 4 to 3 seconds.
9. CPU Shun can use all his moves now. Before Shun would never
use his extra moves he got from drinking.
10. Missed down throws have longer recovery time.
11. Sliding fixed for reversed bodychecks or several other throws.
Collision bugs fixed in Taka vs Aoi battles.
12. Catch throws period of vurnerability decreased to 4 frames from
    10 frames.
13. Stats of various moves, not the least of which was Lion's u/f+K,
were changes. Most changes were designed to further promote close
    fighting and prevent abuse.

Changes from Rev C to Rev D

1. Fixed: Move cancel glitches.
2. Fixed: Polygons becoming white.
3. Fixed: When Taka reversed Wolf's body slam, Wolf became stuck and
Taka would transport to a new location.
4. Fixed: Certain of Jeffry's crouching attacks hitting Taka in the back.
5. Fixed: A wall throw throw or ring out throw in the old castle stage
          would freeze the throw.
6. Fixed: Infinite flirkick reverse. Now the range is 1.8 m.
7. Fixed: If Kage KOs CPU Lau at the wall edge with the b+P+G --> u/b+K+G
combo, the replay will show Lau vs Lau.
8. Fixed: Stage select defaults to off. Now the first stage during versus
competition is always the cave, then cycles through a predetermined
          set.
9. Fixed: Pai's f+P+K of Lion's punches bug.
10. Fixed: Total time miscalculations.
11. Fixed: During continue screen, the other player can not speed up
           the time.

First, a disclaimer. I do *not* use warps during an actual battle,
only after a KO. Except when I play Kage and I TFT, knowing that the
opponent has less than 40 points of life left. In which case I
occasionally
warp, then I quickly do a single punch to release him.

Second, don't email me asking me how to do the warp. I'm not telling!
;-)

But for those of you who *know* how to do it, and who are honorable
enough not to use it except after KOs... here are some FUN tricks!!!
(Sorry, version D players excepted!)

- I'm not sure about this one, but if you're playing Akira and
you KO the opponent with, say, a punch, you can warp the guy back
to his feet and (possibly) do a SPoD as a "fatality".
Somehow, this reminds me of Scorpion in MK 1 throwing his opponent
and then performing his flame fatality, which brings his opponent
back up on his feet in the ensuing charring of the body.

- RO on Subway, Library stages: after an RO, do the warp. The opponent's
body will sink into the ground, and only a portion of his clothes
will be seen. Most funny in the Subway stage... looks like the
character was squashed into shards of cloth by the train. Heh heh.

- RO on Island, (and possibly Raft) stages: this time, the opponent,
instead of floating peacefully in the water, makes some sort of
spasm, and then goes dead still in the water. Ouch.

- Had to save the best for last. I don't know if this is reproducible,
but I was playing Akira on the great wall stage, and ROed my opponent
with the close in ram over the short wall. Then I performed the warp,
and guess what? The opponent warped all the way from the bushes below
back onto the stage! Looks even better in the replay. This one
was ABSOLUTELY hilarious. (I must try this with Kage's TFT over
the wall as well... tomorrow, maybe.)

Fighting the cpu Akira the other day, wondered where he got the baby blue
crown he wore on his head! He wore it both rounds too before I sent him
home. Tried to knock it off but it wouldn't go.

On the Island as well, this has happened once vs. CPU Jeff. The warp
was performed very late, and it manged to still Jeff in a face down
KO position. Usually you expect the character to warp standing, but Jeff
just laid there motionless.

There rest are new, but this one I've heard of.. my friend did it once
and has been searching for the secret to "Taka-puri" ever since.
Wouldn't be that useful though, his TT attacks are a lot like his
forward facing attacks.

Played Pai against Lau on Lau's stage, near the wall Lau tries to do his
big float combo on me but instead knocks me out the ring... but no ring
out! A trail of blue appeared outside the ring but Lau could no longer
do anything to hurt me. The timer counted down to 0 and I won by time
over.

Once in Lau's Stage, my Akira got knocked down and he hit
the wall (or the fence on two of the sides), and he went INTO
the wall and got stuck there. I just couldn't move for the
rest of the round.
Again in Lau's Stage (and it was only today), my Akira
knocked Lau down, and it was just a little off the centre of
the arena. And Lau kept bouncing on the ground until he
bounced over (or through) the wall and it's a Ring Out!! Ha!!

] Jacky (me) vs Taka (CPU). I do a kickflip which
] connects but doesn't knock Taka down.
] Jacky stands like a plum and rubs his nose.

Unfortunately, that's not a bug... If you hit Taka while he's blocking
low with a kickflip, the kickflip only does half damage (25 pts) which
isn't enough to knock the big guy down... Jacky's screwed if the Taka
player knows what he's doing.

I had that happen to me twice as well while playing Sarah.

Against Jacky, I managed to knock Jacky out of the ring (off the
building), and just before Sarah does her victory pose, she falls off
screaming.

Against Lau, she manages to get part of her taunt out before falling,
again screaming, and landing on top of Lau. ("Better run..." small hop
"aaaaaaeeeee!" "splat").

This is actually rather common. It happens whenever you do the warp very
late in a float, or whenever you warp Taka.

My best advice is to think of them as reversals... you only seem to get
the large side steps when you "major counter" your opponent's attack with
a dodge, i.e. when you tap E during the execution time of an opponent's
attack. In any event, you have to E in the correct direction for some
attacks (to your opponent's back side against Jack's beat knuckle, Lion's
sidekick, Lau's lifting palms, and Akira's b,f+P+K[+E]; to the front side
against all heel kicks (Kage's d+K+G, Pai's and Lau's D,K, Jacky's f+P,K,
and most rising kicks) ) While other attacks cannot be dodged at all
(sweeps, crescents, most continuing combos like PPPK).

Not in VF3, AFAIK, but the beat knuckle did (past tense) change it's
execution and recovery times based on range back in VF2. In VF3, however,
there are still a few interesting attacks that change slightly due to
different ranges (Jeff's and Wolf's uppercut, Lau's UpKn and DnKn, Lion's
high punch<!>, and Pai's heel kick)

As far as stop animations go, I don't think they change due to different
ranges.

Almost useless trivia: What's the only attack that recovers faster when
it's blocked compared to when it hit or misses? (The answer is at the
bottom of this post.)

low throw.

Well me and a friend messed around with the freeze today, here's some
things we came up with.

Akira: fc,f+P+K, SJK, freeze (spod)/ MC d/f+P+K freeze

Sarah: elbow-knee freeze, etc

Taka: knee freeze

Shun: no g cancellable moves as far as we know, we don't play him

Jacky: knee freeze, freezing with him is very hard though.

Lion: didn't try

Aoi: MC D/F+P, freeze, hers is tough though.

Lau: MC d/f,d/f pppp freeze - same as jacky's

Pai: didn't try

Wolf: knee freeze, maybe F+pp freeze?

Jeffry: knee freeze

Kage: tft freeze (duh), maybe tft b+K+G, ppp freeze?

we didn't really get the timing on RO-freeze..

Chris

p.s. I in no way advocate useing the freeze on players, this is just
something to mess around with. and don't email asking how to do the
freeze, figure it out yerself.

p.p.s Dural got me with the whole spod today for the first time.

The round was Sarah vs. Aoi on the Great Wall stage.

Sarah was backed up against one of the low walls and tried to do a flipkick.
The kick missed and Sarah floated back a little and went over the edge. She
screamed, we saw her fall down the outside of the wall, and then waited for
"Out of the Ring". After several seconds, nothing happened - the timer just
continued to count down. Sarah then appeared in front of Aoi, laying on
the ground. Sarah got up and the fight continued.

Weird...

And I though it only occured to me. It was also at Lau's level, my kage
went over the edge when lifted by the cpu but then it didn't fall down but
got " jammed " inside the wall ( my character was still partially visible,
and the timer went on until time out.) Wierd huh ?

Nah, there's been a lot of bugs reported on Lau's stage... it was
probably just a "normal" glitch with the walls on the Great Wall.

Re: Aoi warping
It's actually possible to button mash and warp with her simply because she
can G-cancel so many odd ball attacks compared to the other characters.

I posted about this problem before and it happened again tonight. I was
playing Pai and my opponent was a human Wolf. The stage was The Great
Wall. Wolf did some throw and put me over the wall. Pai screamed and
fell down, and then nothing happened. My energy bar did not go to zero
and the screen remained in one place. The clock had about three seconds
left and ran itself down. Even though I was off the screen, I had more
energy than Wolf left and won the round. I was up 2-0 anyway. Pretty
funny though.
