Just curious what all the editing limits are.

I just realized in conversations, it is 5 minutes? Not complaining, just surprised but conversations are not things to be re-edited too much anyways, can always "add more" to the discussion ^_^

I assume in the Forums it is still on "No Expiration Time?"

AFAIK it is 5 minutes both in PMs and in forums.
Mods and char-mods-in-testing have no expiration in forums tough.

Edit time limit for conversations: 5 minutes
Edit time limit for forum posts: Unlimited

If you feel the 5 minute limit for conversations is too restrictive, let me know.

BTW, Character Specialists do not exist (yet) :)

heh, I'm cool with conversation limits. Especially with how those usually flow, I think there's a lot of good logic in putting a time limit on editing conversations.

And similarly, I love having unlimited on forum posts! Especially because we are trying to inform, and as can be seen on the character evade direction thread, I will even use strikeout to point out a mistake I had made in the past and has since been corrected in the board knowledge-pool ^_^

Is there a feature to upload and embed mini mp4 clips, so that people could capture various outfits, poses and combos etc, just off their phones and directly onto forum posts?

No. Try creating a YouTube account, upload there, then you can embed it in your posts here.

Ah, OK, will have to try that. Really just thinking like small, under 5 meg clips to help show off some of the more snazzier elements to keep piquing interest to those still curious but hesitant to commit to a DLC only game.

I noticed something when you edit a post what contains the directionnal smiley 234 etc...
After the editing, they become just numbers again.
    So, before editing: 6[K]
    And after editing: 6[K]

I'm not sure I follow? Your before and after edit example look identical to me.

Damn it, after I sent the post the smiley for the directions turned into numbers ... I don't know if it's just me.. fro example, if you look at my post on the Theorical Tier Chart, only the smileys for the kick and punch were displayed, for the directions, there are just numbers... and I'm pretty sure I use the smileys for the directional inputs as well.

EDIT: nevermind, it's just that after I sent the post, the directional smileys turn into numbers... I don't know why. Maybe my browser.

I had similar issues. Sometimes, the forum likes to auto-format things. It is quite annoying.

I still don't know what you guys are talking about!

kingo, in your Theoretical Tier Chart post all your directional inputs are just plain numbers. You do know that you need to enclose these in square brackets or colons, right?

    Code:
    [6][6][P] or :6::6::P:
    results in [6][6][P]

    How are you producing this?

If I repeat the same input you showed me:

    Example 1:
    [6][6]

    Example 2:
    [6][6]

    Example 3:
    [6][6][6]

    Example 4:
    [6][6][6]

I think it happens when using a combination of codes (ie the colons and the number in between) and the smiley inputs (from clicking on the smily face for the options). Example 3 and 4 that I posted is a mixture of using the codes and smiley options. Not sure if I am using the right terms.

I'm wondering if the colon at the end of "Example 1:" (etc) is throwing the WYSIWYG editor off?

If you're ever in doubt, you can always switch out of the WYSIWYG editor and use the BB Code Editor (click the Aa button in the top right) to see exactly what's going on, make any corrections, then switch back to the WYSIWYG editor.

Also, I notice people like to use colons instead of square brackets. On traditional US keyboards, a colon requires an extra keypress (SHIFT + semi-colon) whereas the square bracket is a single press. Personally, I never use the smiley menus (too many clicks) and just type out the command codes with the square brackets. Think of the speed and efficiency gains!

square braquets are in a strange location that most people who don't program are used to pressing so it's easy to miss the key. : though is right on the pinky at all times :).

I always use the square brackets and type the inputs manually instead of using the smileys, never had the formatting issues that way.

Also colons are just 1 keypress on AZERTY (french) keyboards so thank you for letting us have the choice!
