This is messed up..... VFX industry is struggling and not many people know about it.

 

Good link, sal. I'll check it out when I have a few minutes, but I hope they address the systemic flaws and thinking of the bid process and the animation studios. The entire process and the undercut mentality of the animation houses are easily contributing to the troubles FX studios are having. The major film studios are complete dickheads and unbelievably ignorant about how VFX works, of course, but they aren't solely to blame.

I have a buddy who has been doing feature films (thor, Iron man, Hobbit, etc) for years now and is very plugged in. The stories I'd get from him are just unreal. I sometimes wonder how movies get made at all.
