      Rise from your grave...

Mikado in Takadanobaba has been resurrecting older fighters over the last year with tourneys for the most obscure fighters...VF3tb is just the latest after TTT got a resurgence of all of the old pros back.

They have 3 VF3tb machines up for play which are generally full on the weekends. Recently they had 84 3 man teams attend a tourney.

The reason why you don't see VF4 machines in the arcade is because operators cannot support the card system and are afraid of customers complaining about that so they avoid it all together especially since you can't select your change move in FT.

For awhile, there were VF2.1 units up for play but 3tb received a lot more traction.

Great to see this, VF3 was my first chance to experience the VF series. Graphically it looked amazing in the arcade back then. When I went back to it last time I was surprised at how different it was to the other games. It feels like a unique game among the VFs a bit like how SF3 is in the Street Fighter series.

Why this is called World Cup if invited players are all Japanese? :(

I was invited to by Mikado earlier this week along with a bunch of other VF vets and had drinks with them to discuss the good ol' days and who is coming back for the tourney on Sunday.

Segaru is coming back to rep Wolf. Kashiwa Jeffry, Shinjuku Jacky and Ikebukuro Sarah will not participate. Kyasao will but he is way too rusty (can't even do TFT knee).

Here are some pics. They just increased their setup to 4 cabs and other Tokyo area arcades have started to put up VF3tb cabs as it is now the #1 revenue game for Mikado.

      Nice stuff, Shou.

It will be interesting to see how Segaru performs, assuming he's pretty much disappeared from the scene since circa VF4?

Also, just noticed that the Tokai Cup (starting at 1100) and this 3tb World Cup (starting at 1930) both occur this Sunday. Hopefully there won't be a schedule clash between the two.
