Training Mode Items(top)
In Training Mode, items are rewarded when you complete the Tutorial, Tactics and Advice, and Mission Practice. Refer to character item lists for details.
Dunce and Curse Items(top)
Dunce and Curse Items are usually obtained as a result of something negative about your game play. An example would be if you were to received an unusually high number of throws or attacks during the course of a match. The idea behind these items is to somehow embarrass or punish you (by not allowing you to equip an item in it's place), but of course, many of the dunce items are considered quite cool!
Each dunce and curse item has a get and remove condition which tell you how you can obtain and remove the item respectively. When you get a dunce/curse item initially it will be automatically equiped to your character and you cannot replace it with any other item. Once removed, it will then be a part of your collection which you can equip at any time. Note: this only applies to dunce items. The curse item (Tutankhamen's Mask) will not remain in your inventory once removed.
Details for each dunce and curse item can be found in the character item sections.
Prize Matches(top)
Prize matches will occur when certain conditions are met. Prizes are random and will either be Money which can be used in the Shop or Items. The more valuable the prize match, the higher the value of the Money or Item is likely to be. Money prizes range from 200G to 1100G (in multiples of 100G).
There are five types of prizes in the game:
-

-
Prize 1BrownBe at any Dan rank
-
Prize 2BrownPrize Match when 1+ Dan, or 100+ matches
-
Prize 3SilverPrize Match when 4+ Dan, or 200+ matches
-
Prize 4GoldPrize Match when 7+ Dan, or 300+ matches
-
Prize 5FirePrize Match when 10+ Dan, or 400+ matches
Orb Items(top)
Collecting Orbs is another way of obtaining items. A full set consists of seven orbs, each a unique colour. Orbs are gained by beating opponents who have them. The catch is, you can only stand to win the orb if your opponent can win an orb off you. So if you have no orbs, you'll never win any through a match no matter who you beat. At the other end of the scale, you'll never win any orbs off an opponent with a full set because you (obviously) don't have any orbs he needs.
To start off you'll be awarded a white orb when you complete the first Arcade. You'll then have a chance to win orbs against opponents who don't have a white orb. Continue fighting your way through quest to collect orbs from opponents, remembering that both must stand to lose an orb in order for one to win. Once you obtain a full set, they will combine to reward you with an item. All characters have two Orb items, so after you've collected your first set (and item), you'll be left with no Orbs. Purchase a white orb from the Shop and continue again.
Once you have both sets complete, you can continue to collect orbs but once you've acquired a full set for the third time, the orbs will not combine. Instead, they'll remain in your inventory and it will be impossible for you to lose them. -
