The 3rd Odaka Cup is one of VFR's 5 on 5 Seed Trial Team Battle. Located in Nagoya, Japan this event garners Japanese VF players from many different regions. The event is held this Sunday, July 14th, 2013 and is streamed on Chinobrad's Twitch Channel. Update: Links to the archive and final results are posted below

Kingo (Kim Heng Ung) from France and Krye (Wouter Strankinga) from Netherlands are currently two of the strongest VF players in Europe. In the past year, both of them have done very well in online and offline events. From my experiences with the two, both Krye and Kingo have a strong competitive spirit and desire to meet fellow VF enthusiasts. In December 2012, I interviewed both players about their VF experiences with the goal to help promote the World Games at Cannes event in March 2013. Unfortunately, I did not meet that goal. I still wanted to post that interview which I now hope may help promote the Sega Cup Europe event in August 2013. What you have here is two sets of interviews. The “Half a Year Ago…” Interview is from December 2012 and the follow-up interview “…Present Day” is from June 2013.

The fighting game community has never been so big and active throughout the US. Every quarter there is a massive FGC(fighting game community) event showcasing some of the greatest talents in fighting games the world has ever seen. For some it's a chance to see greatness and clutch on a level that we aspire to get to. For others it's a way to showcase your talents and see just where you stack up in terms of time dedicated to your preferred fighter. This is not fact or statement, it is a compilation of feelings and emotions I felt after my time with some FGC events. It's a self check for everyone out there that loves fighting games and is connected to them as a player, spectator, or creator.

SEGA CUP Europe is just around the corner! Please note that registration closes on 31st July 2013, 10 PM UK Time (ignore the July 20 deadline in the image), however, spectator passes will continue to be available online, and on the day of the event. As a pre-cursor, a SEGA CUP Warm Up event was held last weekend in London. Read on for video links!

On Sega's official Virtua Fighter twitter account, the current number of 神 "God" ranked VF5FS cards were posted. The information is current as of May 27, 2013, for the arcade version of the game. The God-ranked titles are equivalent to the Lord-ranked titles (Stormlord, Magmalord, and Skylord) from the console version. One difference between the arcade and console version of the game is two additional God-ranked titles. These two titles were added to the arcade version of the game immediately after the console version was released.

Since the Final Battle Audition in 2012, it has been relatively quiet on Japan's official Virtua Fighter website. Announced on June 5th, 2013 (for those living on the Eastern hemisphere), a VF.Talk Live and Kumite Event will be held on June 22nd, 2013, starting ~ 7 PM JST. The event features Asapon (aka Asami Shimoda, a voice actress, singer, and hostess of VF.TV), Sexy Saito (long time MC for VF.TV and events by Sega), and Shinjuku Jacky (one of the original Tetsujins).

VF.Talk Live will be an event to talk about "Virtua." As to what that actually entails is anybody's guess! It might be a local promotion of Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown at Japan arcades; Or maybe it marks the beginning of events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Virtua Fighter!?
